GOP lawmaker Thomas Corbin heroically stood up to the feminazis by stating the obvious fact that women are inferior to men. Way to stand up for men's rights, patriot Corbin! As long as heroes like you are willing to fight the good fight, we may some day live in the world where men are no longer treated as second class citizens by the feminazi oppressors!

Another assclown. I wonder what the story is on him. Is he in the closet? Was he jilted by someone? Or is he just generally unstable, perhaps reacting to something that makes him psychotic.

Women should be barefoot? I may have heard something along inverse lines criticizing women for not wearing socks and prancing around in sandals and flip flops exposing the skin on their feet for others to see, but the only time I've heard of being barefoot acceptability from certain old school crowds is in the privacy of one's home. Surely they don't expect pregnant women barefoot in public.

Lol

I never understood the whole thing about how oppressive it is for women to be in the kitchen, barefoot and/or pregnant. I'd say 90% of women I know like to spend time in the kitchen, of their own free will, doing cooking, baking, drinking wine with their girlfriends, etc. Its like a hobby to them. Some have even spent tens of thousands of dollars remodeling their kitchens to make it nicer to be in! Same with being pregnant. A lot of women like/want to have kids. Shoot, some will some spend many thousands of dollars on fertility treatments to get pregnant! The barefoot thing is sorta weird, but I think it would be more comfortable and less oppressive to be barefoot than in those awful high heel stilletos that deform your feet and cripple you later in life. So, I suggest that the new symbol for male oppression of females is to keep them in the garage, sterile and wearing some Jimmy Choos!

“Well, you know God created man first,” a smirking Corbin replied. “Then he took the rib out of man to make woman. And you know, a rib is a lesser cut of meat.”
A classic example of how religion turns people into assholes.

“I see it only took me two years to get you wearing shoes,” Corbin told Shealy, who was elected in 2012 as a petition candidate.
I don't get it. Is this one of those things that only makes sense to the crazy person making the statement?

The point is that conservatives should stop telling people where they belong.

And you are from South Carolina? Who said anything about letting them out in public in the first place. You keep their shoes so they stay home.;)

The oppression is in other people deciding for her, that she has no higher aspirations than to be taking care of the house for her man.
it's not 'allowed' to cooking, as a hobby.
It's 'limited' to cooking, as the main point of her day.

Like hte drunk sailor i knew who handcuffed his wife to the stove because she refused to make him a steak after he'd been out drinking until 11 at night.

Barefoot is a refernence to woman not needing shoes, because they have no reason to leave the house.

*sigh*

Yes, women get pregnant because they want to be pregnant. Actually, if they had the choice, I think they'd rather the guy get pregnant.

Well, my wife isn't much of a fan of socks, she usually chooses footgear that doesn't need socks unless the weather is cold....

Looking at the article and the accompanying photograph, is it only me that thinks Mr. Corbin not only sounds like a meathead but looks the part as well?

Do you ever force your wife go barefoot? Many on TFT consider you to be a right winger, so I'm just wondering if the stereotype has some validity to it.

Me personally, I prefer to go barefoot when I'm in the house and its fairly warm, largely because I have a bad case of athlete's foot, and it helps to keep your toes exposed to the air. I wouldn't like it if politicians made some sort of law to force me to be barefoot though.

"a rib is a lesser cut of meat"? This guy is a full blown misogynist. You can't innocently have that many quips.

So when they are post-menopausal, they still must be pregnant? umm, how? (barring artificial means he may well object to)

And also implying that they can't leave the house - so they have to get all shopping etc mail order. I'm assuming working from home is ok. If they have smelly feet are they allowed odor-eaters?

perhaps I should not ask too many awkward questions.

I wonder... could the women in Corbin's fantasy world wear bread bags on their feet?
