WASHINGTON DC -- Citing an unprecedentedly perfect presentation of impeachment by the Trump defense team, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has announced he will open the floor for an impeachment vote on former Vice President Joe Biden this evening after the Trump defense official rests their case.

"The case presented by the defense was breath taking and we need to act immediately," noted McConnell.

Republicans in the Senate were in agreement with the Senate Majority Leader, including "moderate" Maine Senator Susan Collins. "I simply can't understand why we didn't act on this six years ago."

While a majority vote to impeach is expected, the Republicans will have difficulties being able to remove Vice President Biden from office because they do not have the 2/3's of Senate to support such a motion and the Vice President technically left office in January 2017.

The Democrats are expected to protest the vote and forward the concern to Chief Justice Roberts who is overseeing the Impeachment Trial. Regardless what the Chief Justice rules, a simple majority of the Republicans would be enough to move the motion forward.

The only question that remains now regards witnesses. Sen. Mitt Romney noted "We need to step back for a moment and determine whether we need to call any additional witnesses regarding the actions of Hunter Biden. an unelected civilian serving at a private company."
