I have not been on the site much for a week and 1/2.
I have been hiking, riding, fishing in the Aust. Alps. Finally got to the top of Mount Kosciuszko (2228m) the highest point on the Aust. mainland.
It is not really a mountain in the conventional sense, just the highest point on a ridge line. In fact within a radius of a couple of kms there are at least 10 points that are <10m lower than Kosciuszko.
The walk was 25km along the main range walk. Mount Kosciuszko is the little loop on the bottom left. Started at Chraolette's Pass and returned.

If it's the highest point around it's a peak. You are simply describing a peak with very little prominence. Looks like a nice hike.
