Hillary Clinton's previous statements on Illegal Immigration: memory holed?

No.

I remember Hillary for some reason was put in charge of health care reform even though nobody voted for her.

And I remember the monstrosity she came up with, which was a system to protect insurance corporations, set back health care reform for decades.

That's incorrect. She came up with universal health care and was roundly booed by both sides. Obama care was a compromise position.

No she didn't. She came up with a monstrosity that was a monstrosity because her biggest concerns were the insurance corporations.

Why she had any power to do anything is a mystery. She had no business leading anything. Nobody voted for her.

It was flagrant nepotism and in that it was corruption. Nothing good was going to come out if it.

Unter - you are wrong on your facts here; you have been politely told that you are wrong on your facts here; and you have been given the means to educate yourself, which you have ignored.

Why should anyone listen to anything you have to say on the topic?

I am not wrong.

I lived through it. I remember the mess she came up with. A nightmare and it set back health care reform for decades.

And I was disgusted that she was given this job when there were so many people in the nation better qualified to do it.

The fact that you keep insisting "she came up with" it tells me you really don't know anything about it.

Would you be open the suggestion that perhaps your dislike of HRC is so strong that you are unable or unwilling to look at the facts of 1993 health care proposal?

I didn't know who she was in 93.

I work in health care so I was very interested.

Her plan was a nightmare because she had no business being in charge of coming up with one. She had no healthcare experience at all.

She led the whole process for some reason. She had no healthcare or insurance experience.

She was a lawyer and the wife of the president.

It was disgraceful on many levels.

Now you're moving goal posts around!

You are mistaken unter, Bill was the actual leader of the task force behind the scenes. They wanted to make it look like Hillary was in charge. They tricked you.

It was a nightmare of a plan.

And the reason it was a nightmare was because it was built around the needs of insurance corporations not sick people.

I directly refuted your imaginary goal post.

She had no business doing it but if she had come up with a reasonable plan I would have been happy.

SHE did NOT "come up" with it. She may or may not have been the best person to promote it and work on getting it passed - that is a matter of opinion. She may or may not have even agreed with the proposal that the President and his team put together. But if you have no idea how the reform proposal came into existence, and continue to say stupid stuff like you've been doing here, you have no credibility on the issue.

Are you claiming this was not Hillary's project?

She led the whole thing.

And the plan she came up with, or if you like, ended up with, was a nightmare.

If it was such a great plan why don't you try to tell me what was good about it. Why isn't she running on her great plan?

I know it's all just about tribalism and vacuous point-scoring, but I would just like to suggest that changing one's policy when one learns new information about an issue is not, despite the glee it causes in political opponents, a bad thing.

"Sir, we have discovered that Iraq does not, in fact, have any weapons of mass destruction. Should we call off the invasion?"

"What, and be branded as 'flip-floppers'?? Never!! I have determined my policy, and no mere facts are going to change it!!"

'Flip-flopping' as new information comes to light is actually a good thing in a politician.

In this case the only "new information" is that voter preferences have changed. Thus her personal ambition can be better furthered by changing her stance.

Damn. I thought the guest worker program had been stopped ......

I provided you with a link to a lengthy article written by someone who was directly involved - read it or don't.

I read it.

It is the plan she defended and wanted to become US law. Of course she had no power over it. She had no official power what-so-ever. Nobody elected her to do anything. She should not have been overseeing this.

And it was a plan made specifically to take care of insurance corporations.

That is the Clintons. The beginning of the corporatization of the Democratic party.
