Hllary Thumps Bernie in New York

I disagree that the welfare reform of the 90's "made welfare work better." Regardless, I don't see how that is a response to my claim that she is not, and has never been, a member of the progressive wing. It's all well and good to talk about diversity of opinions in the Democratic Party, but that doesn't mean that Hillary Clinton is a progressive. She is a centrist. Really, on the world stage, she is right-wing.

Disagreement noted. Now to progressive accomplishments of Hillary https://www.hillaryclinton.com/feed/seven-hillary-clintons-biggest-accomplishments/

A paragrpah:

Although her major initiative, the Clinton health care plan failed, it certainly set the groundwork for the health care law we have today, the Affordable Care Act. And she played a leading role in advocating the creation of the State Children's Health Insurance Program, which provides state support for children whose parents cannot provide them with health coverage. She promoted nationwide immunization against childhood illnesses. She also played a leading role in creation of the Adoption and Safe Families Act and the Foster Care Independence Act. She encouraged older women to seek a mammogram for early detection of breast cancer (which is covered by Medicare) and successfully sought to increase research funding for prostate cancer and childhood asthma at the NIH. She worked to investigate illnesses that were reportedly affecting Veterans of the Gulf War; now commonly known as Gulf War Syndrome. And she created an Office on Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice. She is also the first first lady to hold a post graduate degree, and she traveled to more countries than any other first lady had at that time.

A nice progressive beginning.

To that add China speech for human rights to include women, negotiation of 2012 cease fire in ME, She was instrumental in securing $21 billion in funding for the World Trade Center site's redevelopment, and subsequently took a leading role in investigating the health issues that 9/11 first responders were facing.

Yeah she's a conservative's nightmare. Apparently according to Bernie enthusiasts she's that to democrats too because she's sooo, sooo, conservative.

Its time for Bernie's young head nodders to stop drinking the Koolaid and recognize she's been and is still one of America's top progressives between 1976 till now. Here is someone we can all get behind.

Clinton engaged in third-way politics in the 1990's. When she became senator of new York, she actually was indeed more progressive. However, if she were more conservative she wouldn't hold her seat in New York which is more liberal than the US on average. After Bernie is out of the picture, she will be a little more conservative in the general election. And after (if) she wins against Trump and becomes President, she be a little more conservative yet again. It'll make her slightly left of center pretty much where Bill Clinton was: Telecommunications Act of 1996 deregulating consolidation of media; NAFTA; military "interventions"; Welfare Reform; Defense of Marriage; endorsement of school moment of silence/prayer/meditation each morning; outlawing flag burning, etc.
