TALLAHASEE, FL -- House minority leader Kevin McCarthy stated that the House should not be fast to react to a photo released from an investigation of Matt Gaetz of him snorting cocaine off the buttocks of a minor. The photo was provided to investigators by Joel Greenberg a former collogue of Representative Matt Gaetz as part of a plea deal that involved several federal crimes.

"We are aware that this image was leaked to the public and we are interested in how it was leaked," noted Rep. McCarthy.

When the press pushed on the implications of Gaetz being involved in lewd acts involving drugs with underaged minors, the Republican leader noted "These are merely interpretations of a photograph that could have many different interpretations. I have full confidence that Rep. Gaetz will be vindicated in this smear attack."

Investigators have noted there are more photos and video involving the Florida Republican. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said immediate action must be taken to deal with this "serious breech of ethics".

Representative Gaetz would not respond personally to questions regarding the photo, how in a statement he stated "This political hit job will be exposed for what it is. Nothing illegal happened in that staged photo. The implication that I would commit acts of drug use with a minor well past her bedtime is egregious and slanderous and we will be suing those responsible."

What hit job? What's wrong with the image? That's proper GOP practice!
