How much is "too diverse"

Its a little strange that the US Native American population is about 2% of the total, yet they are 32% of UMN student body? Does Minnesota have an extremely overweighted proportion of the Native American population?

I have no idea what an "extremely overweighted proportion of Native Americans" would be. Northern and Central Minnesota are where the Native American tribes are located as well as UM at Morris. According to state statute from 1909, UMn Morris waives tuition for Native American students (UM Morris Tuition Waiver). So, I suspect the proximity to home and free tuition make that campus an attractive alternative for qualified Native American students.

Really? Supporters of affirmative action appear to have formulae they use to arrive at acceptable weightings of people by ethnicity. Mostly it appears to be weighted by comparison to the American population, and not a local population.

Yes, that would represent the expected outcome if choices were completely random which is clearly not the case in this situation.: free tuition and proximity are not random factors.

I wouldn;t disagree with the notion that we should just leave people to their own, if it were the case that people actually want to leave other people alone... it is not the case. So, measures need to be put into place to prevent people from preventing other people to "be free", as you say.

No. The problem is the progressive / CRT view that any disparity between groups is solely due to racism which must be fixed for “equity.” (This is not consistent, as when Whites or Asians are the underrepresented that’s okay.)

I too have an issue with "equity" as it is being applied to the "effects" of a thing.
The number of Olympic Bobsledders that are Black is underrepresented in global Black population... therefore Bobsledding is racist.... (OR.. just hear me out here... Black people just don't CHOOSE to Bobsled)
