Dear white supremacists alt-right free speech warriors,
When you created that account on YouTube, you agreed to terms of service. Breaking the terms of a contract you signed is not evidence that your free speech rights are being taken away. If you don't like it, you should not have agreed to the terms of service and/or you should not have broken the terms of service.

Further, you are free to start your own video streaming service on the Internet, so your free speech rights are not being taken away. YouTube doesn't owe you a platform for your message any more than FOX News owes me a platform.

I can't wait to see who rushes in to defend the white supremacists, then gets offended when someone points out that they are defending white supremacists.

Also, if the SPLC is even a fraction as powerful as you imply, they would have been able to censor Jeff Sessions at his christian fundamentalist religious liberty summit. But I guess it's easier to drum up fear against a group with no real genuine power like the SPLC; then you can have all the privileges of being a victim with no real risk.

While I have no problem with YouTube going after the preachers of hate I dislike this pattern of cutting the undesirables off from the banking system. YouTube is not a monopoly, the financial providers are for practical purposes and thus I think should be subject to much stricter limits. (I have no problem with a company being cut off because of too many chargebacks or the like, but not because they're simply undesirable.) Of course nothing like this is going to happen because the government is using this very tactic against businesses they don't like.

What about my free speech? FOX News isn't giving me a platform to spread my message, therefore my free speech is being attacked. Why aren't you doing something about FOX News' attack on my free speech rights?

Free speech is bring your own soapbox. You don't get to use someone else's (ie, YouTube) soapbox if they don't want you to, but neither should you be denied the ability to get your own soapbox.
