If there was any doubt MAGA is a cult

Gotta love how the Christers think Trump is one of them. If you're atheist and ever wonder if you're on the wrong team, just consider that they perceive Trump as a man of faith. I particularly love to see footage of evangelical pastors laying hands on Orangey in the Oval Office. One of his chief abettors and annointers is Pastor Robert Jeffress of Dallas. Here's a partial transcript of one of his prayers over our hero. (This was in 2017, which explains one of the laugh lines in it.)
"Let us pray together...Father, I thank You that we have a President, President Donald Trump, who believes in the power of prayer. We thank You for a Vice President like Vice President Pence, who works alongside of him. And we thank You that the President had the wisdom to call our nation right now for a day of prayer this coming weekend...This country has been bitterly divided for decades upon decades, and now You have given us a gift, President Donald Trump, who wants to bring healing to this country -- and he is bringing healing to this country. And I pray that You would give him and Vice President Pence the wisdom they need to truly make our country what You want us to be."
Sorry if anyone just puked, but if you did, that in itself shows the power of prayer.

It is nothing but a cult. These people don't believe in anything but itself. Shit is spreading north to. One woman, a Poulivere supporter was going on about how we needed change. Said it three times. Not what should change, but we need "change". It gets scary when people support a movement they can't defend in supporting. We saw this all the way back in 2016. We know in America, it is mainly because they are white nationalists... but they do have their fair share of Hispanic and Black bigots as well.

They support a dangerous image of our nation, and I'm really uptight over the spending cuts at colleges over the anti-Semitism... as that feels like it is an easy grab. When do the schools get funding cuts because of evolution or teaching about slavery?

First rule of autocracy: we need it due to the immediate dire threat to our existence.
People believe it when you tell them they’re under threat. They’ll normally do whatever you tell them to do once they’re convinced the threat is real. It can be something as illusory and even non-existent as the Homeless Industrial Complex, but if you tell them it’s a threat and you have to do “x” or fall victim, at least 60% will do “x”.

I don't buy that. This entire movement is a bunch of snake oil salesman/women. It is one of the biggest grifts. They get their followers to buy this crap, but they don't believe it for a second... yet.

They are all in this to grab whatever power or benefits they can. Like Stephen Miller who doesn't think Trump is god, but he loves having access to all this power so he can white power up the nation.
 
Which brings us to the news footage of his cabinet meetings, where each participant outdoes the others in groveling before the bronze god and telling him how he's the most wonderful president in history, that he's handsome (gag), that his leadership is bringing us to an era of greatness. Sickening that anyone would gush this way for an overlord, sicker of course that Trump takes it as a tribute he's earned. I can't think of anything else like this in American history -- this round table of slavish worship. The look on Trump's face as each speaker delivers his little speech of praise is pathological. This man is being fed ambrosia. He's positively crazy. There was footage of this in 2017, and we just got the 2025 version last week, I think. These folk might as well be well-fed pashas, down on their knees before an even fatter sultan. Strikingly crazy and seemingly from another age. It would be in keeping for them to suggest that a pyramid be built for Trump, or that 72 virgins be brought in to anoint him. Anyone else here lose it, when you see this?
