Inflation Not All It's Cracked Up to Be

It's not a consequence of big bang assumptions.

Saying it's not, Underseer, doesn't make it not.

Like inflation, dark matter and dark energy are consequences of an assumption.

If they were supported by evidence, BB believers would be screaming with joy.

DM and DE are consequences of the assumption that GR works to describe large scale structures as well as local structures. General relativity does work locally.

People have been gathering information on photon scattering of various types of matter for a long time. Basically, if there was a bunch of a specific type of matter prevalent in space, we'd see emission lines from scattered photons.

Apparently there aren't tons of emission lines being detected, although ethyl formate was found near the milky way's center.

Now, for an emission line to be detected, there would have to be a decent amount of a specific substance in interstellar space.

An interesting thing I read recently was something about "missing light", in other words, there is a lot less light than there should be. So maybe there is some super efficient form of life that totally consumes photons, that has been around since the big bang.
