As sex scandals go, there's not a lot here. It's really only the fact that Congressman McAllister campaigned against an established Republican on a "family values and integrity" platform. A longtime friend and his wife contributed to the campaign, and after the victory, the wife took a paid position in McAllister's home office.

So far, so good.

Like most modern offices, there is a security camera focused on the door. Sometime in December, this camera watched the Congressman and his staff member enjoy a long slow goodbye kiss, before leaving the office. It's probably good for the Congressman there is only one camera in the office suite. He first appears on the camera, with his shirt tail hanging out. When the couple leave the office, he puts on his suit jacket, shirt tail still out. Maybe it was casual Friday.

Fast forward to earlier this week, and things get sticky. A copy of the security camera tape appeared in the mailbox of the local newspaper. It's a crude copy. Someone held their phone up to the monitor as the goodbye kiss scene replayed. There is the interior scene with the long slow kiss, followed by an exterior shot of the happy couple on their way to the parking lot.

Soon came the customary apologies and pleas for forgiveness. Aside from the political fallout, everyone who has ever been around one of these situations, knows the first rule of boss/employee affairs, the woman always loses her job. In this case, besides losing the respect of his family and constituents, he also loses two campaign contributors.
