Is geocentrism making a comeback?

You know, if i was a director, i would think i'd prefer actors/actresses that were not competent in the subject matter. It's hard enough to get them to hit their marks and deliver their lines without having to deal with disagreements and suggestions for 'improvements.'

Can you imagine trying to film Jack Chick's Big Daddy or Dark Dungeons with people from this board playing the witches coven or the other students in the class?

The world is a flat disc resting on the back of four giant elephants who are standing on the back of a giant turtle that is swimming through space, m'kay?

Honestly...

And what dear, Madm, is the Turtle standing on?

ANS: that's an easy one. It's turtles all the way down!

From Steven Weinberg's The First Three Minutes, IIRC.

Remember back when Answers in Genesis kept posting arguments against geocentrism, and people on this forum (well, IID or FRDB back then) expressed skepticism that there were a significant number of Christians who believed in geocentrism to make such arguments necessary? It seems to me that the existence of this movie makes the answer clear, as if the pages at AiG weren't proof enough.

Yeah, at the time i just thought Hovind had said something stupid and AIG felt the need to put yet more distance between themselves and Dr. Dino....

Not only is geocentrism true, the idea of a rotating earth is a falsehood. Think about it! If you Earth was really spinning at 1000mph, when you jumped in the air, the earth would move under you at 1000mph and we'd be constantly battered by 1000mph winds as we whizzed around at 1000mph.

Take that atheists!

Certainly would make traveling across the US easier. Going from Europe to North America could be a problem though and you'd probably get wet and stuck as you can't jump on water. Though I suppose with practice, you could skip.

I sure did! Foucault's pendulum that supposedly proves a rotating earth was actually a Jesuit conspiracy to find evidence for the theory of evolution which they were trying desperately to prove.

That's an argument I've actually seen used.

More importantly, how the hell did anyone talk Kate Mulgrew into narrating this crap? I mean, she has to have noticed that this script is trying to "teach the controversy" about geocentrism.

I think I'll start a movement to demand that we "teach the controversy" about phlogiston. Enough of Lavoisier and his Oxygen bullshit.

What about biblical genetics?

The Bible says that if animals look at stripes while they mate, their offspring are more likely to have stripes:

We also need to teach the controversy about the lies being spread by geneticists. Who would you rather believe? A bunch of old men in lab coats who just sit around making stuff up, or the perfect word written by a perfect being? ;)
