8 arrested after windows smashed at Democratic Party of Oregon building in Northeast Portland

Far-left, anti-police demonstrators smashed windows at the Democratic Party of Oregon building in Northeast Portland Wednesday afternoon. The vandalism took place just hours following President Joe Biden's inauguration.

The group responsible for the damage marched through parts of Southeast and Northeast Portland. They first gathered at 2 p.m. at Revolution Hall in Southeast Portland, where they were met by police officers on bikes.

Eight people were arrested in connection with the demonstration, according to Portland police. Their charges ranged from criminal mischief, to possession of a destructive device, to riot, to reckless burning. While making the arrests, officers recovered batons, irritant spray, Molotov cocktails, knives and a crowbar, police said.

As I said repeatedly, Antifas deem anybody not as far left as them to be fascist and thus subject to violence.

Multiple people arrested during destructive demonstration in Seattle

Several buildings were damaged and multiple people were arrested Wednesday night after protests against President Biden and Federal agencies turned violent on Seattle streets.
Dozens of demonstrators started marching Wednesday afternoon from Occidental Park and made their way through Downtown Seattle.
The protest first centered around an office building at 1000 2nd Avenue which houses the offices of ICE agents and Federal Immigration Court. Protesters burned American flags and dropped flyers calling for the abolition of ICE, something Biden’s administration said Wednesday they would not do.

Glass was shattered at banks, the Nakamura Federal Courthouse, Amazon Go stores, and the original Starbucks in Pike Place Market.

I guess attacking federal government buildings is considered "peaceful protesting" again.

do you see differences between protesting for racial/social justice, far-left marches, and attempting to overturn election results? do you see a difference in breaking windows at an ICE facility or courthouse and breaking into the fucking capitol while electoral votes are being counted? do we just need to equate all the things all the time? i view all of those as different even if some form of violence happens at each.

to be fair many of us Seattleites have wanted to smash the windows of that startbucks before. the coffee is gross and the idiots who stand in line for over an hour to go into a starbucks are often in the way for the locals trying to walk through the market.

I see what looks like a bunch of Black Bloc anarchists. Are you sure they're idealistic demonstrators who oppose Fascism?

The next four years are going to be interesting watching the left eat its own. If it gets really out of control, what will Biden/Harris do? Send in the National Guard? Or play the fiddle while Rome burns? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yeah, sit back, relax, and feast on Q-blubber while you wait to see who eats who.

Has Antifa murdered any Muslims yet?

VERY doubtful.
Having been perennially tagged as a leftist, I have a hard time imagining anyone with a thought-out liberal POV dressing up in right-wing-extremist trademark Tacticool™ outfits and demanding violence.

OTOH, I have no trouble at all imagining right wing extremists doing that - or virtually anything else - if they thought they could discredit people who are opposed to the fascism they embrace.

Yeah, like, I see that anarchy symbol they are all wearing and all I can think is that "that's not antifascism or liberalism at all, that's anarchism, straight up".

Those assholes can fuck right off out of our tent. They get no support from me, only judgement, same as any other violent actors.

That said, they are right in their intent of objecting to imperialism, fascist violence, and police murders. Their journey does not say anything about their destination good or bad, merely that they are lost and will not find what they seek.

As usual, your guess is very wrong.

Meanwhile Lynne Cheney already has a primary opponent and the GOP is at its own throat between the aimless Trumpites and the partisan deep staters.

Is this sarcasm? The right has been eating itself over Trump lately.

They both do it. No argument here. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Not certain how Derec missed the part of the link text noting that people were arrested.

Yeah, sit back, relax, and feast on Q-blubber while you wait to see who eats who.
:hysterical:

Q blubber? I'm less interested in who is eating who (both sides do it obviously), and more interested in seeing how the rioting can (or will) be curbed under the new administration. There is currently a lot of anti-police, anti-arresting, pro-"protesting" attitude amongst the left. So, it seems any use of force by local law enforcement or the Feds will not go over well. What options are left? Yell "Stop" in a megaphone, and if they ignore it, yell "Stop" even louder? :confused2:

Ah... the good 'ol "both sides". :hysterical:
The funny thing right now is that yesterday there were high expectations and eager anticipation where there is now, very ironically, a cannibalistic feeding frenzy.
Not saying that it won't be happening on the left at some point over the next four years. But I wonder what will remain of the insurrectionist right by that time.

...more interested in seeing how the rioting can (or will) be curbed under the new administration.

I imagine there will be dramatic short-term success in curbing the activities of violent Trumper mobs. Beyond that ... as long as there are idiots playing Tacticool™, there will remain work to be done.

There is currently a lot of anti-police, anti-arresting, pro-"protesting" attitude amongst the left.

I believe you are indeed confused. You have conflated anti-murder with anti police, for one thing. As far as anti-arresting, I think most on the left would very much like to see seditionists and traitors arrested. And liberals have always endorse the right to protest - that's always been the case and is not going to change any time soon.

Q blubber?

Yes: :D

You clearly have not heard of "Defund the Police". And you missed my quotes around "protesting". I did enjoy that Q blubber, though...priceless. And no onions needed to boot!

Or, he knows the difference between "defund" and "abolish".

Regardless, looks like the usual fake anarchists to me. They're anti-fascist, technically, but they're just generally anti-whoever. I agree on abolishing ICE - they're a iostake stemming from 9/11 reforms as I recall - but that's not actually an endorsement of most of what the "anarchists" do.
