Meanwhile in People don't kill People, Non-White People kill White People

Orlando is no doubt a huge incident. However, the 8 dead in Southern Ohio seemed to have received no press at all. It was a calculated and cold mass killing as well. It wasn't just a run up and shoot up.

Not true. I heard about it when it happened.

I heard about it here in Southern Illinois, as well.

How often is non-news reported? It happens all the time.

Non-news does not bleed. Non-news from redneck Ohio barely makes the Ohio papers.

Because the reality of police work is that usually the evidence either is clear or it isn't. If it's clear they usually have their suspect quickly, although actually capturing him sometimes takes time. If it's not clear then they usually don't solve the crime, period. Look at how long serial killers sometimes get away with it--there's a major manhunt but if they don't leave behind useful evidence the cops don't get them. They're usually only caught due to a stupid blunder or bad luck.

Serial killers kill strangers. Most murder victims are killed by someone they know. In this case, the killers must've been well known to the family.

I was simply using serial killers as an example of criminals not being caught despite major police effort.

Don't leave evidence, don't fall victim to very bad luck and you'll get away with most any crime where you control the situation. The only reason police catch much of anyone is that most criminals are stupid.

It may be that the Orlando shooting looks random; the attacker didn't know his victims. Random violence is more disconcerting than domestic killing.

Ohio looks like criminals killing criminals. Once the victims are found not to be innocents the news interest becomes minimal.

And that's part of the problem.
That's why we have you to bring up such cases of non-mass murder related issues in a thread about press and a mass murder.

Well, your entire OP is similarly a Red Herring. You equate two completely different types of killings that have no relevance to each other, and pretend the only difference is the race of the shooter. Valid social science examinations of "mass shootings" like Orlando don't even include the kind of non-stranger targeted mass executions your OP focuses upon, because they clearly have completely different motives and casual factors underlying them, and completely different psychological impacts on the communities in which they happen.
