Meanwhile, in the right-wing radicalization of America

I wonder how Disantis would reply when asked if Arabic numerals should be used in math class.

If basic arithmetic is being taught I find it hard to imagine how that would perpetuate things such as Systemic racism, Oppressor vs. oppressed, Colourism et al.
Same reason some black kid being added to Peanuts made a difference to children in America.

Important math has words and pictures. That is when children need to figure out how to solve a problem by interpreting what has been informed to them. Critical thinking is crucial.
1. If you have 5 pieces of fruit and I give you 3 pieces of fruit you have how many pieces of fruit do you now have?
2. You have 15 pencils and have 5 children to give them to. How many pencils will each child have?

I find it hard to imagine how those activities would perpetuate things such as Systemic racism, Oppressor vs. oppressed, Colourism et al.

Oh wait. Is it important what colour the fruit is? Or the shade of the pencils?
If so, the problem is not with the maths itself but rather with stupid people who cannot separate form from function.

That isn't. It is when names and situations are mentioned in problems. It isn't a huge deal, but people notice this stuff. It is always Jason, never Jamal. And oddly, if it becomes Jamal or an effort exists to add Jamals to questions... a whole bunch of white people start getting angry.

The questions, when using only Jason instead of Jamal aren't racist, but rather inertial indifference to non-white races. This small, what appears to be petty, sort of stuff, adds up over time. Adding one black kid to Peanuts didn't stop the Earth from rotating, but it didn't NOT make a difference to many, and comics are really petty stuff.

I can total see this being said by one of my favorites of all time.

Dude... do not juxtaposition my quote with Carlin, it isn't worthy enough. Especially with this topic, because Carlin was an absolute genius when it came to language, and twisting it for humor-sake.

Quit with the false modesty.

It is a remarkably succinct framing of the issue that captures both sides of the discussion in crystal clarity in such a way that is both humorous and also renders one listener/reader with a deep twinge of sadness while engendering another listener, one we can all mostly agree that we dislike, unreasonably angry such that we may see "oh, there they are, they are the butt of this joke! Let us laugh even harder!"

It is true. ❤️

It's not the first time Stevens has made waves for his activism. In 2015, he petitioned 11 South Florida municipalities to either drop the prayer that opens their city commission meetings, or let him lead a prayer in the name of Satan.

After Stevens' requests, some Florida cities ended up dropping their moment of prayer altogether. "The satanic stare withered them down," Stevens told the Sun Sentinel.
