From the looks of things, this is not retaliation for Trump's tariffs nor retaliation for Republican racism. The new president ran on a platform that included this as a campaign promise simply because Mexico has too much poverty to support a purchase like this.

But, Republicans and/or military-industrial complex manufacturers might take this as retaliation for Trump's belligerence.

Further, with Trump out there starting trade wars with traditional allies and deliberately insulting traditional allies, it's not too much of a stretch to suggest that at some point in the future, we might start seeing traditional allies cancelling arms deals and buying military goods from other sources. Mexico's order cancel might give other allies ideas.

PS[ent]mdash[/ent]I deeply apologize for suggesting that something Trump did might have negative consequences. Of course, Republicans are special snowflakes who must never be held responsible for things that they do because the Republican party is the Party Of Personal Responsibility. I hope you weren't offended.

APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED

You do realize that you are criticizing a Very Stable Genius who "doubled and tripled our GDP" in 18 months, right? And you are aware that such a 6-fold increase would normally have taken over 100 years, right?
Shame on you!
