So they are charged with manslaughter and have agreed to take their remaining children to a doctor if they are sick. And they're supposedly being monitored.

Religion and mental illness are the same thing in this case.

Wait, they're charged with killing one of their kids and they get to keep the other kids? If this judge charges a bank manager for stealing from customer accounts, does he make him promise to try really, really hard to not do it again when he goes back to work the next day?

Sadly, we have quite a few states that make special exceptions for religious lunatics...oh correct that...for Christian religious lunatics. Because we all know just how precious children are...well until after they are born.

IIRC, Self Mutation once claimed that if God HAD stopped Hitler and the whole bag of evil we associate with him, God would not get credit, and we'd never know to thank him for stopping future Hitlers...

SM was the one whose car broke down in a bad part of town and God took away a tow truck driver's free will so that SM wouldn't have to walk on a dark street. This miracle was offered as evidence of God.

Part of the problem is language. Faith healing should be called faith killing when that's what it does to a kid.

These people are cognitively challenged. Do they think it's their space ghost's will that their house only gets warm if they turn on the furnace? Shouldn't they let it be cold? And dark? And without water?

These people are nuts, not to mention scientifically illiterate. Too bad for the kids.

No, he just gets to go to jail, and it is up to the financial institution to decide what to do... and given various regulatory controls that are in place for financial institutions, it almost definitely would mean he looses his job. You pretty much can't work at a bank in any role with a criminal record, especially one involving finances... and what employer is going to hold a job open until they are done "doing time" for stealing from that institution... lol.
