NFL 2025

So, former Patriots QB Mac Jones is leading the #1 passing team in the NFL. Jones was disbanded after not being able to perform well enough under three or so Offensive Coordinators and I think as many head coaches. Former NY Giants QB Doug Jones, no relation, is leading the Colts with the best record in the NFL, after failing to have any success in New York, despite being signed to a gargantuan contract.

Meanwhile, the weak scheduled Patriots are in first place of the AFC East. I'm curious what Mac Jones would have done with McDaniels making the calls in New England., along side Vrabel.

Of course, the Giants still suck. :)

Are my Arizona Cardinals the greatest 2-5 team of all time? Every game decided by one score.

Meh. Life sucks and then you die.
Broncos lost two games by last second field goals. They should be 7-0 instead of 5-2.

Giants rookie QB seems legit. Surprised by their defensive failures; that was supposed to be a strong unit.

Daniel Jones was never as bad in NY as people claimed, and he’s in the perfect situation.

Steelers started strong, but they’re about to hit the wall. They were 4-1 a week ago, but they stand a good chance to be 4-5 by mid-November. The sad thing is that they might still be in first place in the AFC North.

And the Chiefs have awakened. Gag me with a spoon.

I don't know how common this is, but it was of interest when I saw it.

QB Sacks
1) 34 - Cam Ward (TN) 1-7
2) 28 - Drake Maye (NE) 6-2
3) 25 - Jalen Hurts (Phi) 6-2
4) 22 - Justin Fields (NYJ) 1-7
5) 22 - Justin Herbert (LAC) 5-3
6) 20 - Trevor Lawrence (JAX) 4-3

Is this a running QB thing? I was surprised to see two of the best records in football at the moment just under the 1-7 Titans for sacks allowed.

Ward: rookie on a bad team
Maye: still inexperienced
Hurts: holds the ball too long
Fields: Jets, no further explanation needed
Herbert: sub-par o-line and run game
Lawrence: combination of the above

Lamar (15 in 4 games) would be up there if he hadn't missed three games. His o-line is really bad, and he was playing on a bad hamstring before it got bad enough to sit out.

I think Aaron Rodgers is going to blow a gasket soon. He got outplayed last night by the guy who replaced him in Green Bay, and he spent almost the entire game yelling at everyone and everything. And the Steelers' schedule gets harder now after having mostly creampuffs the first six weeks.

Division leaders after week 8. How many will still be there after week 18?

I guess 4.

4 or 5.

Any person with 1/4 of a brain should think Kansas City will finish in first. Buffalo would be the smart money in the AFC East. Seattle has a lot of competition. And Green Bay might be a toss up with Detroit.

The remainder don't seem as much in doubt to me.

1 in the AFC (Colts).
2 or 3 in the NFC (Eagles and Bucs; Lions over Packers, Rams possibly over Seahawks).

Bills and Chiefs should catch up. Steelers vs. Ravens should be more clear in a couple weeks. Ravens have the fifth easiest remaining schedule, while Steelers have the 25th. I’m also expecting some trade activity by Tuesday that could change things.

Week One Maye made an appearance today. Pats barely slip past Atlanta.

It's becoming the year of the tight end and the retread quarterback

The Jets apparently want all the first round draft picks. Traded their two best players. It’s a shame they suck at drafting.

FEMA unclear on extent of required response after 2/3s of Thursday Night NFL viewers fall into a coma.

The winning QB had a QB rating of 54 (1 TD, 2 INTs).
The losing QB was better at 60, (0 TD, 1 INT).

The teams totalled for 408 yards of offense. And in a game with 14 punts, you'd think, well, at least there would be some kick return action... no. 1 yard (<- notice... not plural!) combined between the two. Broncos only had one return for -1 yard! Raiders had 3 returns for a total of 2 yards.

No... it was 50+ degrees, not -20 (checks to see if bilby is in here about to pounce on how hot 50 degrees is).
No... it was at worst cloudy, not raining heavily or snowing.
No, we don't have the death toll from boredom yet.

I’ve read that the NFL is considering charging both teams with a loss.
No!
I awoke this morning to discover the Broncos holding the best record in the NFL
They can’t take that from them until Sunday!

Pats beat Bucs in a really good game for both squads. Pats are 8-2, Bills are 1.5 games back at 6-3. Patriots effectively beat the Steelers, have beat the Bills and Bucs. Not a hard schedule, but they have beat (or effectively beat) good teams. This was the first game I questioned Vrabel. Had ball inside ten yard line with 5 point lead and 6 minutes remaining. In my mind, you run all three times, kill clock. They threw twice and one of them was an interception. But the Pats held on. A great day for the rookie running back Henderson. Pats coaching is vastly improved and Maye, while not the absolute top shelf, is making things happen. Pocket awareness at times is well beyond that of a second year QB. The Patriots likely won't win the Super Bowl, but they seem to be in a position of being top shelf competitive at this point.

Browns... lose to a team with a QB that made 6 receptions and passed for a total of 54 yards. Why bother firing the coaching staff when you can simply fold the franchise?
