How dare you criticize the economic elites? You're just a worthless commoner. No one cares what you think.

Of course you can. But if you look at the compensation for the one that made $19 million, at least half of it was stock options and not cash. That part of the compesation is so that the CEOs direction is in line with the Board and using it for comparison to worker pay is harder in that circumstance.

But the question is what level do you use CEO pay to compare. It took the top 225 companies. If you take a CEO of that local LLC that makes $15K a year or less than CEO pay is a lot less.

Some of it really is obscene. I can't think why anyone would be worth such an obscene amount of money.

That is about as relevant as noting that Granny Smith apples are green.

It does matter though if you say CEOs. The article should at least clarify, CEOs at top 225 firms make this much. But you can be CEO of a company with a few thousand dollars of sales a year but that would make the data seem more in line.

Tom Brady makes the same amount as the link for one of the CEOs and he just throws a brown leather thing around for fun. And Brady is the 12th highest paid quarterback.

His superior talents are clearly seen.

What is superior about these CEOs that justifies their pay?

They fail as often as they succeed. Their so-called talents are not easily seen.

The median pay for Chief Executives in the United States in May 2017 was a bit over $183K ($88.11/hour)

Any company with a few thousand dollars of sales a year probably does not have a CEO and an employee. So technically, the CEO's pay is infinitely higher than zero pay of all the nonexistent employees. See, anyone can nitpick something to death.

All it takes to become a CEO though is around $50, but depends on each state. There are a lot of of CEOs out there that make very little money or even lose money in that position.

Since no one claimed every CEO made lots of money, why do you think your response is relevant?

Because it's a lot easier to see what Brady does, not very easy to see what daily and quarterly decisions most CEOs make.

You should offer to be a CEO for 40X or 45X the average salary and see if you can get Ziprhead's gig.

They’re most likely talented at schmoozing and networking.

Yep, that's two of the many talents they must have.

That doesn't mean a CEO has special talents.

It just means it's hard to get the job.

But they do have talents. They are politicians and lie very easily.

So, if I were hiring a CEO (which I do actually do in my job), why would I want one who is a politician who lies to me?

As a greedy capitalist myself, why wouldn't I just want the guy who will work the cheapest?

You could go out in the street grab the first person you saw and have as much success with them.

These people have no talent beyond being able to bullshit.
