Trump is a rogue agent in a lot of ways, even with his own party. I can totally see him befalling an "accident".

That is exactly why he is at risk. The Deep State doesn't want him, they don't know if they can control him and fear they can't. He's in a particularly good position to disrupt a lot of establishment power.

From history I learned that the last president capable of cutting the defense budget was Eisenhower because anyone accusing him of being soft on defense would look an utter fool.

Have you happened to have forgotten about the 1990's...the DoD budget took quite a hit in that decade?

You're right, it had slipped my mind. Clinton-Gingrich did cut quite a bit from the military budget.

And now that I think about it, I remember how much criticism Clinton got for it, which was a criticism that Eisenhower was completely immune to. Who's going to tell Eisenhower that he's anti-military and unpatriotic?

Of course, Eisenhower also had the deficit turn into a surplus for one year during his administration - a real surplus, unlike the Clinton surplus.

I just watched a few episodes of "Designated Survivor", a drama series on Fox based on a plot where everyone in the line of succession dies in a terrorist attack except the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, played by Kiefer Sutherland. Can't help but to think about that scenario playing out with Trump administration...

what do you mean.. I never even heard of Trump.. is that some kind of card game? what election? no, I don't read any news.. I am an empty container ready for the courts to fill me up with whatever they want me to see and decide upon.. I don't know nuthin.
