Oklahoma Voters Approve State Medicaid Expansion

Oklahoma is the 37th state to expand medicaid coverage under the Affordable Care Act. It's certainly helped a lot of red state republicans who talk out of two sides of their mouth to stay in office. If republicans stay in office but a liberal agenda gets enacted is it really such a bad thing?

Tuesday's results also mean that a majority of voters were in opposition to efforts by Stitt, a Republican, to keep Medicaid from expanding in his state. Since the measure got on the ballot in October, Stitt announced his own Medicaid expansion plan only to later veto state funding for it, according to Kaiser Health News.

If republicans stay in office but a liberal agenda gets enacted is it really such a bad thing?

yes, because even if voters push for progressive referendums and pass them, republicans will bend their will to fucking with it on the back end.
the US right-wing has proven time and again it isn't just an opposition party, it's a cabal of political sabotage. you cannot have even the most basic if democratic liberal political structures with the existence of a party that has no agenda or purpose but to destroy the very concept of there being political structures in the first place and to reject any notion of progressive political ideology.

The existence of that party isn't the problem. The problem is that it currently has power. Vote blue and they can be relegated to the political trash heap of history.

IOW I agree - it's a bad thing if they remain in power. Anywhere. They will kill people, lock up children, loot treasuries and blame democrats no matter how liberal an agenda gets "enacted". Enactments are for sissies - just symbols to the interpreted to their own ends, not anything to be abiding by.

When these corrupt hypocrites are in office is certainly makes it harder to get decent legislation. We seem to be seeing reality trumping stupidity, if that makes any sense.
