A North Carolina school system has adopted a policy allowing high school students to carry pepper spray this fall, a policy one board member said may be useful for students who encounter transgender classmates in the bathroom.

The Salisbury Post reports (http://bit.ly/1TzmUGY) the policy was adopted by the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education during a work session on Monday.

Board member Chuck Hughes said using the sprays was purely defensive, and he referenced the North Carolina law that limits LGBT rights, saying such sprays could help female students if they go to the bathroom and don't know who's coming in after them.

SOOOO Glad I don't live in Rowan County.

And they say there is bad shit in Flint's water.

I must have missed the part where transgendered people started abusing girls in public bathrooms.

Anyway, mom's college in NC basically said "Well, it's state law for now...we can't just ignore it...we're a bit confused as to what we're supposed to be doing here, though." Basically, very unenthusiastic, and likely hoping to do the bare minimum until it gets thrown out.

Also...sure, high school kids with weapons. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, gay and transgendered students could theoretically use their pepper spray on bullies, and attackers.

That'll go over about as well as a clock-building Arab kid in Texas, I'd guess

Can they even spell "lawsuit"?

No one uses the bathroom in a high school to actually go to the bathroom. They are smoking lounges.

So kids are vap'ing these days (though I think the regulation just changed on that... well... was just created to prevent underage vaping)?

I don't really know what the kids are doing these days... them and their boomboxes and rock 'em sock 'em robots... WWF wrestling.
[motley Crue]Vaping in the boys room...

You should see Dr. Feelgood these days - he's get an '07 Prius that he traded for some sriracha flavored quinoa
Actually I thought he just ran a Hedge Fund now. Bought a cheap drug and up'd the price 1000x. More profit, less risk, much more evil.
