Opinion: Kavanaugh exposes the amorality of America's ruling class

This is the preppy culture. It is really interesting that the Trump base with its "anti-elite" populist rhetoric is so enamored of these spoiled rich brats in the Trumpiverse.

I went to a Catholic school. We were a co-ed day school so not Georgetown Prep type place. We had plenty of blue collar and military kids but we were in the same athletic conference with the prep schools and we socialized with them. We also had our own in-house preppies. When I read excerpts from Mark Judge's memoir I feel like I am reading the life of a classmate named "Brock". Brock is now a lawyer and ardent Trumpie. Brock's dad was a lawyer. Brock and his clique did things that would have gotten the rest of us plebes thrown in jail but he always skated.

And here I was, just starting to get used to the idea that the "ruling class" community didn't need to clean up their act like the "black community". Where are all the "ruling class" community organizations that do outreach for their screwed up folk?

How in the fuck do you get that from what he said?

He was responding to a post specifically about the political advantage of bringing the allegation. That's apparently enough for him.

Yes. Serious allegations are enough for me to want to hear them.

You want to dismiss them without even hearing them for some strange reason.

Maybe the issue is you didn't read the whole thing--it was about political advantage.

That is a non sequitur.

Saying that some would like to see this deluded sick nominee go is immaterial.

He didn't take moral advice. He took a story.

The right has no morality.

They only care about winning.

They bow and scrape to Trump. Unbelievable!

Spineless scum.

So it's moral to accuse someone of rape without evidence so long as it suits your political needs?

Is it moral for the GOP to refuse to let the FBI investigate this so no real evidence can be found? So the Republican SOB's can say it is a case of she said, he said and they don't have to credit the women with telling the truth? So they can cram a right winged extremist activist judge on the SC to support extremist Republican politics?

A poll released on Wednesday found that a majority of Republican voters believe that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh should be confirmed even if charges of sexual assault against him are true.
The NPR/PBS/Marist survey of 997 adults was conducted between Sept. 22 and Sept. 24.
...
Out of Republicans polled, 54 percent said Kavanaugh should be confirmed if the charges were true. Only 12 percent of Democrats agreed that senators should confirm Kavanaugh if he sexually assaulted Dr. Christine Blasey Ford when both were in high school.

What the Fuck! For a lot of Republicans, anything goes. A rapist on the supreme court!? Acceptable! And 12% of Democrats thought this is OK? What is wrong with people in America? We can't blame this on mere stupidity. I am so discouraged by this.

Well, for the Republicans, they sold their souls a long time ago. All of this shit is acceptable if it ends with another staunch conservative on the SC who'll help overturn Roe v Wade. For the Dems, there's a certain percentage who think it's weird that people are saying that some guys didn't rape a few drunk girls in high school - boys will be boys, after all.

The issue was allegations made for political advantage.

Most Republicans voted for the guy that admitted to sexually assaulting women. This comes as no surprise.
