Paradox; the meek shall inherit the Earth

The meek shall inherit the Earth, except that isn't what happens in Revelations.
No?
In the end, doesn't no one get it?
If you mean the Book of Revelation there is, as I recall, a new Earth established for those who were faithful under Nero's persecutions.

In Misquoting Jesus Bart Ehrman makes the case that Revalation was included in the Bible because it was seen as a proohecy already have come true. Christianity having been made Roman state religion was seen as the meek having inherited the Earth.

Its also weird to be included since its a Jewish text, the a product of the line of Christians who thought Christianity should only be open for Jews. These guys didn't see themselves as a new religion. They saw themselves as returning to the original and pure form of Judaism.

Not to mention the break in style. It is like nothing in the rest of the New Testament. It's so angry and petty. It's clearly a God in the Old Testament style. Not the kind loving forgiving guy of the New Testament

Yes, a new Earth. Not here yet. But it's coming, we promise.
The authors clearly believed this event was going to be happening during their lifetime, not in some ever distant future.
