The Texass national guard actively prevented a mother and her children from being rescued. This is what happens when your ideology is such that anyone not of your nationality is 'other'.

If, on the orders of your leader, you actively prevent someone from saving the lives of a drowning mother and her children because according to your ideology they are a despised ethnic group unworthy of life, congratulations, you are essentially an SS concentration camp guard.

The GQP, even when it could be accurately described as the GOP, hasn’t been actually pro-life, ever. At least since Reagan’s days, it’s been the forced pregnancy, barefoot and pregnant but also anti public schools, access to good quality medical care and good quality housing and SNAP benefits party. Brown people are simply not fully considered people, unless they are registered Republicans and even then, only during election years.
