Holy sweet fucking fuckcakes.

Kevin Swanson, the pastor courted by Ted Cruz who has repeatedly called for the execution of gay people, including just minutes before speaking with Cruz at an event last November in Iowa, dedicated a radio program last week to attacking the Girl Scouts for supporting women’s and LGBT rights, saying that the group’s leaders are worthy of death.

Seriously?

Conservative Christians have become so radicalized in recent decades that it is getting harder and harder to tell them apart from radical Islamists.

The mind set of any extremists would seem to be indistinguishable. We are lucky Christianity changed during the past 600 or so years (Crusades, Witch hunting and Inquisitions etc).

for supporting women’s and LGBT rights, saying that the group’s leaders are worthy of death
Okay.
Kevin Swanson says that you can earn the death penalty for having an opinion.

What's his home address? Does he sleep on the side of the bed closest to the window or farther away?

Now hold on, you can't apply the same standards to him. He happens to have the same opinions as God, so if you disagree with him, that's the same thing as disagreeing with God. Therefore, he can apply this to others, but others cannot apply the same thing to him.

People always seem so surprised when I tell them I'd rather have Trump than Cruz as the President.

He happens to have the same opinions as God,
That's not the acme of insight... EVERYONE'S has the same opinion as their gods.
And his is the god who said, Judge not, lest ye have a toilet brush shoved up thine urethra. Or something like that...
And he's judged! So it's all good!

Probably because it's still a ridiculous statement regardless.

Are you sure? You weren't by any chance watching an episode of South Park were you?

Christianity is dying due to the increasing stupidity of its more radical followers. Its slowly becoming more and more embaressing to admit to being a Christian.

What's wrong with supporting woman's rights? What part of that prompts one to be upset?

Apparently, supporting women's rights makes baby Jesus cry, then fly into a murderous rage. Because only someone who really hates Jesus would want to stop people from mistreating women.

Ditto That. Cruz is nuttier than Scalia was. I'll take Trump.

Isn't that a bit like trying to decide which kind of bone cancer you want to die from?

careening towards politics....

I'd say its closer to a close brush with 2 differing kinds of scary cancer, as both are very unlikely to become president, but will be likely to be one who loses to Hillary. I'd prefer Cruz over Trump as the nominee, as a Trump lose will not really do much to the GOP going forward (although increased chaos is possible). Cruz losing to evil incarnate itself, will be a hard lesson for the GOP, and give the other factions ammo to tell the frothing right wing evangelicals that their kind of guy is not marketable to the American public; that the GOP didn't loose with McCain and Romney because 'they weren't conservative/religious enough'. But the naval gazing will still be tough for them...

I can't seem to find any stories in the bible of gay people actually getting stoned to death.

I can't seem to find any stories in the bible of gay people actually getting stoned to death.
Does that mean that people have never really payed any attention to the laws in scripture that they didn't like or does it mean that gays were better at hiding when there was more acceptance of the "whole Bible"?

ETA:
Or another possible reason is that the writers just omitted stories of stoning gays because they thought it was either too common an occurrence to include or too barbaric.

So the fact that the Bible calls for the execution of homosexuals is acceptable because it does not describe the actual execution of any homosexuals?

Interesting.

You had to have two witnesses to whoever committing a death penalty offense committing a death penaly offense. "Sleeping with a man as like a woman" would be something done in private considering its then criminal nature and more than likely not seen by any witnesses.

So no one got stoned for rape, or for being raped, either, unless there were two witnesses?

Well, it seems only fair, as the Bible also describes things as if they happened, but they actually never really happened.
