Now that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was recently back in the news, as Special Counsel Robert Mueller collects White House documents related to his dismissal, a document has been pointed out from November, 2016.

According to a recently uncovered letter sent to then Vice-President Elect Mike Pence by Congressman Elijah Cummings, Pence was well aware of conflicts of interest and potential security risks that came with appointing Flynn to the NSA.

It’s being pointed out that this letter contradicts Pence’s previous assertions that he wasn’t aware of potential issues with Michael Flynn.

eing VP gives him absolutely no say in the Exec branch, and he would be expected to lie to cover for the President. Feels like he pulled a Nixon.

Sheesh. It's going to take the entire Space Force to go after all these guys.

This is insignificant if Flynn testifies that Trump and Pence knew about and approved of Flynn's contacts with Russian officials.

Pence just needs to have know after the fact and was part of the coverup when he lied. That’d be Nixon territory. Trump appears to be fucked.

Pence went on TV and said that Flynn denied any contact with Russian officials. If he had knowledge of Flynn's actions and approved, this makes it during the fact, not after.

Mark Twain said, "Never tell a lie when the truth would do just as well." That's the problem with all of this. Why are so many people lying when the truth would have done just as well. All the President had to do was say, "I am aware of General Flynn's activities and he is acting on my behalf." That would have been the end of it. People wouldn't be happy, but it would have settled the issue.

Instead, we get a story about a National Security Adviser, who has full knowledge of the CIA's, the NSA's, and the FBI's ability to monitor Russian agents in this country, lying to the President and Vice President.

Look at this from a historical viewpoint. Flynn was basically dismissed from his command and was in disgrace. Being appointed National Security Adviser was his redemption and his chance to rewrite his career. He threw all of that away when he denied contacts with the Russians. So, he went from the peak of his career to barely avoiding prison in a matter of a month. What could possibly explain this kind action from someone who had to understand the consequences?

No it wouldn't, because the FBI was already investigating into Trump's potential betrayal of the United States. This admission would have put that investigation into overdrive.
