Phil Robertson Rants About Hippies, STDs, and Jesus Jesus Jesus At CPAC 2015

Yes. Being an atheist does not mean i don't think right and wrong exist. I just don't believe that a divine sponsor is the only thing that tells us what right and wrong are.
Being an atheist means coming to peace with the reality that life can be excruciatingly unfair. I mean look at Robertson. The fact he has access to being heard like this when reasonable people don't. That isn't fair. Of course, the Bible does also speak of false prophets.

Phil Robertson said:
“I’ll make a bet with you,” Robertson said. “Two guys break into an atheist’s home. He has a little atheist wife and two little atheist daughters. Two guys break into his home and tie him up in a chair and gag him. And then they take his two daughters in front of him and rape both of them and then shoot them and they take his wife and then decapitate her head off in front of him. And then they can look at him and say, ‘Isn’t it great that I don’t have to worry about being judged? Isn’t it great that there’s nothing wrong with this? There’s no right or wrong, now is it dude?’”

Robertson kept going: “Then you take a sharp knife and take his manhood and hold it in front of him and say, ‘Wouldn’t it be something if this [sic] was something wrong with this? But you’re the one who says there is no God, there’s no right, there’s no wrong, so we’re just having fun. We’re sick in the head, have a nice day.’”

“If it happened to them,” Robertson continued, “they probably would say, ‘something about this just ain’t right.”

I think this is a cack-handed attempt at the "No Atheist In a Foxhole" analogy. Epic fail. How is this guy still getting gigs at these events ? He's a loon.

Mr. Robertson is not loony amidst the throng of CPAC.

Jebus! The far right wing will listen to anyone that says what they want to hear.

Congratulations! This thread had been dead for two and a half years. Even JC couldn’t work with anything dead that long.

Hey, Phil, thanks for bringing up STD.

Remember when your fellow conservative Evangelicals pushed abstinence-only education?

Thanks to that, many Evangelical teens are having anal sex without a condom. You see, the abstinence-only education has convinced them that condoms don't work, so they're not using them. Because they are still teenagers with raging hormones, they're still having sex, so they're choosing anal sex as a form of contraception.

Now overall, they are genuinely having sex at lower rates than other teens, but you know what? Anal sex without a condom is a very efficient way to transmit STDs. So guess what is happening to STD rates? Go on, guess!

If he walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, he's probably an asshole.
