You are aware that the Trumpets approval rating is approx the same as Obams's were at the same period of their term?

I think that would depend on what you mean by "approximately the same."

For November 2010, Obama's approval rating was 45%.

For November 2018, Trump's approval rating was 38%.

Gallup

Well, both numbers have two digits....

And that Trump is a horrible monster not fit for furnished rooms while Obama is a distinguished gentleman. There's no fake news in the world that can fix that

I've paid taxes for perhaps 5 decades, you know

So what? The money you paid in tax is long gone. Now you're bludging a "free lunch" from a socialist welfare system.

Without socialism, you'd die in poverty because you didn't live within your means and save for retirement. And without our socialist healthcare system, you'd probably die in painful misery, as well.

Do pray tell. How's all the wealth produced by a " Capitalist" system would have come about under a Marxism/socialist system in order to pay for pensions, healthcare, infrastructure etc, etc?

Did you miss the word " approx? By the way the Trumpets attacked in these pages and the left leaning media, one would think the difference was more like 20-30%

Then there's this inconvenient fact...............................https://www.newsweek.com/trump-approval-rating-obama-higher-1054927

Yes, a distinguished " gentleman " who turned his back on the only democracy in the Middle East and embraced terrorist Islamic states like Iran and the Muslim Brotherhood instead!

The age pension and Medicare are socialist programs. It's not difficult to understand.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." It seems your needs have exceeded your ability, else you wouldn't need a taxpayer-funded pension.

Rasmussen? :hysterical:
So the Obama's rating in 11/2010 was "only" 16% higher than Cheato's - Trump is so tremendously great that a mere 16% doesn't even put a dent in his support, right? :D

I'll bet you love the socialist dole payments collected every fortnight by the dole bludgers and some people who think the world owes them a living without themselves lifting a finger to help themselves. By all means the unfortunate and disabled who through no fault of their own can't help themselves should be and are assisted by the safety net, introduced long ago by a Liberal government by the way. What my needs or assets are no ones business but my own thank you very much!

How the fuck did 7% become 16% all of a sudden?

That includes age pensioners. The country is providing you with a living despite the fact that you had five decades of employment to save for your superannuation, and failed to do so. It's as if you think we owe you a pension despite the fact that you did nothing to provide for yourself.

By all means the unfortunate and disabled who through no fault of their own can't help themselves should be and are assisted by the safety net,

Now you're advocating for socialist policies.

[...] introduced long ago by a Liberal government by the way.

The safety net was mostly created in Australia by the Curtin Labor Government during the early 1940s, before the Liberal Party even existed. The national age pension (the one you're bludging) was created long before that in 1908 by the Fisher Labor Government.

The welfare state is socialist. It also has mainstream acceptance in Australia on both sides of Parliament, which goes to show that your ignorant dislike of socialism belongs to the far-right of Australia's political spectrum.

What my needs or assets are no ones business but my own thank you very much!

It seems that to your eyes all pensioners are " bludging" off the system. I'm pleased to know that perhaps when you reach pensionable age you won't be applying for a pension as you'll be another George Soros lookalike! Perhaps you can build some homeless shelters for the poor with your immense wealth. Meanwhile, here's something that may prick your bubble while you wear your socialist glassed lenses with Green blinkers!

Recap:
- Angelo hates socialism.
- Angelo depends on the welfare state in order to survive. Specifically, the age pension (and the public healthcare system if he ever gets seriously ill).
- Angelo feels entitled to his welfare payments even though he didn't prepare financially for retirement.
- (Bonus) Angelo mistakenly believes that Australia's welfare state was created by its neoliberal party.

What, no defense of this hard to swallow fact by a socialist?..........................................................https://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-05...ical-time-bomb-70-years-in-the-making/5480154

I left some items out. Here's the updated list:
- Angelo hates socialism.
- Angelo depends on the socialist welfare state in order to survive. Specifically, the age pension (and the public healthcare system if he ever gets seriously ill).
- Angelo feels entitled to his welfare payments even though he didn't prepare financially for retirement.
- Angelo advocates for socialist policy ("By all means the unfortunate and disabled who through no fault of their own can't help themselves should be and are assisted by the safety net")
- Angelo mistakenly believes that Australia's socialist welfare state was created by its neoliberal party.
- When confronted, Angelo tries to change the subject.

The ABC article you cited criticises people who treat the pension as a piggy bank. Which is funny because you also said:

paid taxes for perhaps 5 decades, you know, the policy introduced by government a long time ago so's as to provide for a pension.

So I can also add:
- Angelo thinks his taxes go into a big piggy bank that pays his pension.
