Presidential Candidates doing Hippie-Punching

Curiously, President Trump has been totally unwilling to do any hippie-punching of the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis, despite their being very juicy targets for such treatment.

Most recently, John Hickenlooper and Joe Biden have also done some hippie-punching, denouncing "socialism".

How does one tell the difference between disagreeing BECAUSE one is more moderate versus disagreeing to APPEAR more moderate... and is there really any difference between them?

I wouldn't call myself a "leftist".. but I know a few and never heard any denial that black racism exists. You can strike the adjective and just say racism exists... from everywhere. What do you mean "every bit as "bad"...? is "as bad" mean the number of people doing it, the economic impact, the amount of violence, the number of people affected, or just the measure of general philosophical importance?

A couple of white folk sullied my lawn the other day... I wasn't around, my wife was. She told me that she looked out the window and saw two people laying on our front lawn.. like napping. She went outside and approached them while saying, "can I help you two.. are you OK"? They jumped up like they were electrocuted (by her description), and profusely apologized, explaining that they were just jogging in the park and resting before getting into their car (we live next to a beautiful park, by the way). They got into their car which was parked right in front and left, still apologizing for the trespass.
Fucking white trash...
A black couple wouldn't have had that same sense of privilege that says, "I can trespass whenever I want.. if I feel like sitting somewhere I want, I will".

.. at least, that is ONE way of looking at it...

It is strange to me. Mention black on black crime, you get a shoulder shrug. Yet, if one white person kills a black man, they scream to the Heavens about how unfair it is. I suppose if that black man was killed by another black man, the death is less tragic or something.

Person #2: I believe it was a black man.
Person #1: No tragedy here. Now, if you had said he was killed by a white man, then it would be a tragic senseless death.

There are black supremacists who openly espouse all sorts of racist things.

What Derec is referring to is the position held, typically by leftists in academia of the "critical theory" extraction, that claim black people cannot be racist because they define racism as "power + prejudice", essentially. Of course, this implies that *no individual* is racist, that a *system* can be racist, since racism isn't a property of individuals, by their own definition. But these sorts aren't known for consistency. Or really much of anything in the way of critical thinking.
