Now, the people inside the hit and run group like to call it Project Veritas. Veritas, as we all know, was the Greek God of slander and lies and deceit... and film editing. Veritas was the bastard child of two other Greek gods that I can't find anything else funny to say about them, so I'll leave it at that.

With all the roar with Roy Moore and his love and affection for somewhat not legal, but southernly Christian moral young teens. O'Keefe decided that something had to be done. So they had someone approach the Washington Post claiming to have gotten pregnant by Moore at a tender young age. Believing that the "liberal media" are actually as simple minded with investigations as the right-wing wants to believe, Project Veritas thought they'd be able to give Moore cover by using the Post to put all the other women that have come out in doubt.

It went exactly as they planned.

In a series of interviews over two weeks, the woman shared a dramatic story about an alleged sexual relationship with Moore in 1992 that led to an abortion when she was 15. During the interviews, she repeatedly pressed Post reporters to give their opinions on the effects that her claims could have on Moore’s candidacy if she went public.

The Post did not publish an article based on her unsubstantiated account. When Post reporters confronted her with inconsistencies in her story and an Internet posting that raised doubts about her motivations, she insisted that she was not working with any organization that targets journalists.

Okay, maybe not exactly as planned.

But on Monday morning, Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas, an organization that targets the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups. The organization sets up undercover “stings” that involve using false cover stories and covert video recordings meant to expose what the group says is media bias.

Doh!

Seriously, O'Keefe needs to be thrown in prison.

New York real estate is kind of pricey. I wonder who pays the rent on the Project Veritas office.

I decided to poke about, and wasn't surprised to find a Koch... I wouldn't be surprised if there are quite a few former Palin PAC type small change nobodies feeding them as well as they fight the good fight against the evil mainstream media...

Project Veritas’ top known donors are Koch Brothers-linked dark-money groups DonorsTrust and the affiliated Donors Capital Fund, with contributions of $149,450 and $105,000, respectively. In 2014, the most recent year for which financial information is available, the group reported $2,416,542 in revenue.

It's in suburban Mamaroneck, in Westchester county. Which is tony enough, but cheaper than Manhattan.
But where are they? Their address is a PO Box. I doubt they could all fit in it.

I'm in the wrong line of work

Which is interesting as:
Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas
If their office isn't across the street from either a Post affiliate's or a bar that lets reporters run a tab, that'd be an interesting coincidence. Was she under surveillance or was Project Veritas?

You can't lie to someone who never trusted you, and you can't hide your trail from someone who knows where you started from. What are the odds that the Post was tipped off in advance? A scam like this would need MI-5 level security to keep it secret and O'Keefe is not MI-5.

No, the hidden camera actress was probably unskilled and had an ill conceived story to tell. Also if they caught a glimpse of the hidden camera, then that would cast great suspicion on it being O'Keefe.

They must have tailed her after she left WaPo, which is great for this case but creepy for honest sources.

Honest sources wouldn't have the inconsistencies and other tells that they are lying in their story, which are what prompted WaPo to trail her. It's about time "journalists" started actually investigating stories again, rather than just rebroadcasting unsubstantiated tweets and assertions of political operatives. In fact, they ought to be investigating every source of any consequential story like this before publishing it.

That they did this, would imply they have on the others.

The bullshit that most news outlets parrot shows they rarely do it. Its likely they only did so in this case, because they suspected they were being specifically targeted by Veriitas rather than just being the mouthpiece for lies and slander against others. IOW, it was purely self-serving investigating in this case rather than merely caring about journalistic integrity for the sake of accurate reporting.

That address is likely a PO Box at the UPS Store.

On the Westchester County website, I can't find any property records (including leases) for James O'Keefe or Project Veritas.

They could be sub-leasing. There is a number indicating they don't have the entire building.

Anyway, the story specified a location, and there is a building in Mamaroneck at that address.

You looking for a job there?

It is a strip mall. The number is most likely a PO Box.

The article just says Mamaroneck.

You looking for a job there?
:D

More interested in checking out who pays the rent.

The entrance could be in the back. I'd think the money people keep Veritas on a tight leash.

The only reason to tail her would be if the suspected she was a plant with a made-up story.

Yes, history is littered with incidents of WAPO libeling people. That's why they went out of business in 1973 after telling all those lies about Nixon.

They investigated because THAT'S WHAT THEY DO. I'm confident they investigated Moore's first accuser even more thoroughly.

The only BS here is the stuff coming from your keyboard.

Jimmy, Veritas actually succeeded. They've cherry-picked footage and surrounded it with attacks on other journalists for WaPo. It doesn't matter that they've deceived because only informed people listening to real media will know that. So conservatives will continue to believe them, continue to fund them, continue to move right and bring the country to more right or polarized territory.
