There was a retired General on Bill Maher's show last week that said that if Trump governed the way he campaigns, he could see a military revolt/coup from that.
 
Krugman's expertise is economics. And when he speaks about economics he has authority.

He also is forced to talk a lot about politics since so many economic policies are effected and controlled by politics not by science.

Yeah, Hayden. So what. Trump's already said he'd be legal since. He's adaptable that's for sure. In a POTUS suit Trump would be strangled. If he wins He'll probably pull a Palin and resign or declare bankruptcy, whatever. One thing is clear he wants america to be great. I think he'd do whatever he can to achieve that end. He's over the top nationalist which puts him on the same footing as Putin who believes Russian ethnics are actually part of Russia. Nationalism bottom feeding if unconstrained will lead to eradication of some group in the name of good or pure or whatever.

Nice article. If nothing else, these are interesting times for America historically speaking.
 
Can a democrat believably say I'm going to correct corporate inversion and I'm going to tax the rich believably? IOW can he/she get enough Senators and representatives elected on coat tails to git'erdone. Is there a message that excites the frustrated and gets them to believe we can rebuild the middle class. We need a mantra that is as strong as "nothing to fear but fear itself" like "the primary job of government is to ensure individuals succeed". After all aren't we getting a bit tired of "the primary job of government is security"?
