Berlin attack: Police say lorry crash 'probably terror attack'

German police are investigating a "probable terrorist attack" after a man ploughed a lorry into a Christmas market in the heart of Berlin, killing 12 people and injuring 48.
The driver is an Afghan or Pakistani asylum seeker, according to security sources cited by DPA news agency.
He reportedly arrived in Germany in February as a refugee.
The daily Tagesspiegel said the man was known to the police for minor crimes, but not terror links.

Why wasn't he deported because of his criminal activity?
Why are Pakistanis allowed in as "refugees"? There is no war on in Pakistan. There isn't even a real war on in Afghanistan.

In this world many of us think it can go on forever with insane resource consumption hacking at the roots of our ecological support. Not to mention what global warming will start to change sea levels real damn soon and make ALL of our sea level ports useless - just as one example of its damage.

But imagine that we could coast with our current lifestyle for a very long time with no need to change. If that were the case, then focusing on the demographic creep of muslims into Europe would be a very sensible thing to worry about. In fact I would put it close to the top of the list of dangers to Europe. If this were chinese non muslim (no religion really) people coming in with as large numbers into Europe there would be some problems, but not nearly as much. Or Filipino catholics, not much of problem -- other than what their numbers would be.

Islam is kind of a bad thing to have in Europe, especially with the wars going on in muslim lands and also the funding of mosques by Saudi Wahhabists. Turning vanilla muslims (which is slightly bad in itself) into pissed off radicals.

But I really think the self righteousness of "western culture" being morally superior to Islam is a bit of a joke - too beat the monster of Islam, damn right we need to also be a monster. One of the ironies here is that western inventions of increased productivity is really making exponential resource consumption and maybe it is this that is gonna kill us all.

On one hand be strong and "Deus Vult" and just keep them THE FUCK OUT OF EUROPE and admit we are discriminatory for damn good long term reason. On the other hand, we are in massive denial as to how close the whole fucking planet is to the precipice of absolutely calamity that can not be stopped. Soon there will be massive waves of migrants trying to get out of Africa that is starving to death from the effect on crops from global warming.

I never claimed that "all refugees [are] responsible". But it is the fact that Merkel (and EU in general) with their open door police for "refugees" allowed millions of Muslims to enter in without any checks to see if they were actually refugees (rather than economic migrants and jihadis) and without any vetting for criminal history or radicalism or basic compatibility with European values. It is also very difficult to deport them even when they commit crimes or show radical tendencies. Example: an Iraqi Muslim man was arrested for plotting to assassinate the Iraqi prime minister. After serving a (rather short) sentence he was released, not deproted. He then stabbed a police woman before getting shot. Another example: the rapefugee who raped a 13 year old in Sweden or the one who raped a 10 year old in Austria are not getting deported and in fact will get probation.

Pro-tip: if they sound like Apu they are not refugees. There is no war on in Pakistan.

This is the natural result of identity politics pumping up simple tribalism. Those people that got run over by the truck driver were "them" to his "us", just like muslims and refugees in general are "them" to many Americans' "us". And round and round it goes. The facts that the people in that got run over probably had nothing to do with the driver's grievance, and that that there are many perfectly innocent and peaceful refugees and muslims get swept aside so long as people insist on speaking with identity politics.

Only with an emphasis on individuals can we break that cycle, and that means stopping going on and on about the "black", "white", "latino" vote, pushing "black lives matter" instead of all lives matter, and railing against those immigrants and others like many Trump supporters get off on.
