White House says ESPN host Jemele Hill’s Trump insults on Twitter are a ‘fireable offense’

The White House wants to see an ESPN commentator tossed from the game for insulting President Trump.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday she thinks controversial tweets from “SportsCenter” host Jemele Hill, in which the ESPN star called Trump a white supremacist, are a “fireable offense.”

“I think that's one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make and certainly is a fireable offense by ESPN,” Sanders said in her press briefing about Hill’s jab.

In other messages, she called Trump a “bigot,” “unqualified and unfit to be president” and “the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime.”

People made disparaging remarks regarding Obama and his wife, often based solely on race... and those people lost their jobs.

This woman made disparaging remarks regarding Trump based on his actions.

While ESPN likely has social media policies, it seems so typical of the right-wing to continue to fail with regards to understanding False Equivalencies.

That story is from last month. She eventually was suspended for some later tweets, which were very inoffensive really.

I am less concerned with private companies firing (or suspending) people for their social media remarks (though I agree that there is a huge difference between making bigoted/sexist comments vs expressing a political opinion)...

I am VERY concerned with the ongoing attempts with this administration's attempts to punish civilians for their political speech.

Neither was it regressive. It was contractual.

Trump thinks the corporate world is in a position to squash the rights of some of it's workers.

Trump has the mentality of a dictator. Being elected didn't change that.

It is because people like Trump exist and can assume power that the Bill of Rights was written.

It was Jefferson's, and other's, contribution after the fact.

But Jefferson had just seen monarchy, a fancy word for dictatorship, first hand.
