Reporter, photographer killed in shooting on live TV in VA

Oh boy. The racists will have a field day with this.
So discussing a certain aspect of this case is "racist"? Why, because the race of the shooter and the victims does not conform to politically correct ones?

Speaking of racism, I tuned in to our local racist radio station this morning (WAOK1380). They were making excuses for the shooter, making it all fault of white people all the while using racist language like "refrigerators". One caller even advanced the conspiracy theory that the shooter was actually framed.

It seems like the racial element should get approximately as much attention as it did in the Dylan Roof case.

Where did I say that?

I'll make certain that that person is properly punished.

Case downgraded from senseless killing to insanely senseless killing.

You don't have to be a racist to see a problem here. Welcome to the dark side of the black rights movement. They gave him someone to blame for his own failings, he lashed out at them.

I'm not really sure how anyone gets from "this cop/vigilante shot and killed a black person for no good reason, let's hold a peaceful rally." to "My coworkers are racist and homophobic, let me write a manifesto and then shoot two of them on live television."

"this cop/vigilante shot and killed a black person for no good reason,
Being attacked is a good reason.
let's hold a peaceful rally."

And again a minority of people are used as representative samples of the whole to discredit the entire group. What a crock!

It is easy to condemn what happened here because the violence is so obvious. Unfortunately, you had better admit that guy who did the shooting had been deeply insulted at some point and he felt deeply wronged. Some of the people at the station were not surprised that this incident happened. We sell guns and ammo about everywhere and have open carry, stand your ground and a regular chorus of 2nd amendment misinterpretations keeping this type of threat alive all over our fair nation. This shooting has NRA and TV station fingerprints all over it. The charge of cowardice I feel is way off base and not relevant to the actual problem.

Whenever you find yourself ranting and raving about "senseless violence," it is fair to accept that the perpetrator could not avoid this violence that seemed to make sense to him. You and me and the rest of the world have to understand how that came to be and to confront and deal with it. So far everybody is doing a "must just be another crazy nigger" act. We need to emphasize the positive and admit to ourselves that all this law biding gun owning can lead to what happened in Roanoke.

Have you ever heard of the phrase "going postal"? People have been blaming their former co-workers for their failings, and sometimes killing them, for as long as there have been co-workers to blame.

The point is he felt he was being discriminated against for being black--something that wouldn't have happened without the black rights movement pretending discrimination is all over the place and encouraging people to blame every adverse event on racism whether there's any evidence of it or not.

The left defines anything lacking either deaths or firearms as peaceful.

Were you so understanding about Dylan Roof and what he has done?

Whether they were the minority or majority, they were part of the protests and that means that calling them "peaceful" is crock. By the way, I think that beside the obvious rioting, looting, arson etc. the instances of protesters blocking highways weren't "peaceful" either, as that behavior deliberately and maliciously inhibits people's freedom of movement.

Absolutely! He should not have had a gun and should have had a better, non racist education. That was in his case as big an injury to Roof as the injury the black man suffered...it brought about the SAME RESULTS. Can you understand that?

I don't think everybody here is playing the "crazy n****r" card. What many of us are worried about is that actions like this, and the subsequent reactions of the masses, will set back race relations rather than improving them. Mr. Flanagan stated in his manifesto that he wanted a race war. He saw himself as an instrument for bringing about such a war. Yes, Mr. Flanagan deserves condemnation, for murder first of all, but also for trying to bring about the same race war that Dylan Roof and his ilk would like to see. It's not black vs. white. It's Roof, Flanagan, et al. vs. civilized society.

ETA: I'm not saying this excuses more "every day" forms of discrimination, as if discrimination that does not result in murder is somehow OK. We need to combat that, of course. But we need to be certain that we combat it in the right manner, and that includes condemning murders and instigators.

Whether they were the minority or majority...
Wait for it...

There you have it. The Protesters were not peaceful because a small minority of alleged protestors stole things, broke things, and were in general, acting like asses.

Meanwhile Ohio State fans are rioters and hooligans for the exact same reason.

So, in other words, nobody actually involved in any sort of large-scale movement at all. And let's all ignore the fact that he cited the Charleston terrorist as the guy who inspired him, and apparently said little about any sort of "black rights movement", any more than his citing any "gay rights movement".

Sounds like what happened when Trayvon Martin was killed. All off a sudden people started bloviating about "thugs" and how the shooter was being framed by the PC police.

I guess people who notice race first and the circumstances of a crime later will always lead off by playing the race card.

My guess is you did not know this person, so how could you possibly make such ridiculous claims?

I think Loren thinks that there is a black rights movement (not a BLM movement or a civil rights movement but a black rights movement) and black people don't actually experience discrimination and we have all been snake fascinated into thinking we have because black people are too dumb to know the difference.

Can I maybe recommend stop listening to this radio station if it aggravates you so much?

I am predicting it right now. At some point, you will hear the following talking point from the right. "See. We banned the confederate flag, but two more people are dead. Taking down the flag did nothing. Racism still exists." By this, of course, they mean to say that the flag should go back up and that it's OK to be proud of your slave owning heritage.

To the contrary, we see your point. The Daily Telegraph reported that the “police...confiscated a gay pride flag” from the apartment of Vester Lee Flanagan. Flanagan was a black-gay murder who killed white straight people in a hate crime - an attempt to trigger a race war (as confirmed in his manifesto).

The racist 'straight-phobic' was apparently in a rage over black male homophobia and perceived racism by white women. And the rainbow flag found in Flanagan's apartment is often seen as offensive, and a symbol of anti-Christian and straigt hate. Clearly it is deserving of a media frenzy and a hysterical twitter mob demanding the ban of the flag.

We have no need of Southern pride or gay pride flags, symbols used by murdering religious oppressors and racists.

PS - Did someone forget to post the OP as "White Lives Matter"?
