Richard Dawkins "no platformed" at

Tip: this is a thread about Richard Dawkins being disinvited from speaking due to leftist complaints about his criticism of religion..

Wut? Leftists complain about criticism of religion(s)?
I'm a leftist, and complain about religions as stridently and frequently as possible, as do all the leftists I know. I thought that religious obeisance was part and parcel of right wing authoritarianism.
Silly me.

This is called a total dodge.

What leftists?

YOU said something about leftists.

Prove you are not an ignorant hack.

It's not a dodge. Why do you imagine he was dis-invited from speaking? Who do you imagine dis-invited him?

In my version of reality he was dis-invited by Berkeley-located non-commercial publicly-funded listener-supported radio station KPFA, which is run by the Pacifica Foundation.

If there aren't at least 5 words in that sentence that set off your leftism detector you may need to get it checked.

But maybe to our resident anarchist who is also a complete totalitarian these sound like a bunch of right wing bible thumpers.

Oh.

Your "leftist detector"?

You mean anything not insanely to the right.

The fundamentalists trying to take Evolution from the schools are the Republicans who control everything but can do nothing productive.

Well, hey, reality is knocking at the door here.

So you're going to go with "KPFA and Pacifica are just a bunch of nutty rightists"?

You better get busy sanitizing the record:

Pacifica Foundation is an American non-profit organization which owns five independently operated, non-commercial, listener-supported radio stations known for their progressive/liberal[1][2] political orientation. Its national headquarters adjoins station KPFA in Berkeley, California.

"Dismal reality" perhaps. But not the reality inhabited by the "leftists" I know. Apparently you are denying the reality of right-wing authoritarianism...

I seems to recall dimal observing that this is a majority "leftist" site. Apparently he has never bothered to read any of the "religion" forums, wherein the vast majority of posts mock, deny or outright reject religious claims... that's Alt-Reality (aka "dismal-reality") for you.

FYI dismal - Pacifica is the home of the NPR "Democracy Now" radio and TV segment.
I don't suppose you have noticed that they are EXTREMELY careful to create the appearance of treading a middle course, not-so-cleverly disguising their leftist leanings. It would never do for them to something as leftist as to allow religious sensitivities to be offended, lest their disguise be penetrated.

I'll ask you the same questions I asked unter: Who do you imagine dis-invited Dawkins from speaking? Why do you think they dis-invited him?

The Extreme right and extreme left have a mutual bond with their snouts in the trough of bigotry and authoritarianism because these extremes see everything in black and white. Says me, ex-Marxist fundraiser.

What are you smoking? And has Colorado legalized it yet?
Democracy Now is quite unabashedly a radically left-wing show.
Here Amy Goodman is gushing over a cop killer.
They often have other black radicals on. Then there is their extreme anti-Israel attitude. They are also against pipelines, another fashionable leftist issue these days.

not-so-cleverly disguising their leftist leanings.
Their leftist leanings could not be more obvious if Amy Goodman went to Moscow and frenched the mummy of Lenin.

1. There is no disguise.
2. Islamophilia is au courant among contemporary leftists.

Based on the cricket noises, I think they may have already actually realized the "these Pacific/Berkeley public radio types are all a bunch or right wing conservatives" argument was not the hill upon which to fight.

Someone should alert the internet historians that someone did not insist on pushing a ridiculous argument for at least 10 pages on a political forum.
