MARK COLVIN: Scientists are again warning that the dangers of climate change will be more wide-reaching than rising sea-levels and wilder weather.

New research suggests the nutrition levels of staple foods will fall as the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere rises.

They fear it'll erode decades of progress battling global malnutrition unless they can find a solution.

This article is a bit annoying to read as it is a transcript from a TV clip, but is interesting nonetheless.

The solution is well known and well understood; but it is opposed by both the right wing anti-environmentalist idiots, and the left wing, supposedly "pro-environmentalist" idiots.

Leave the fucking coal in the ground. Dig up the Uranium and use it to generate power. Simple.

The fucking Greens need a smack for their insane policy position that deliberately opposes one of the single most effective steps that could be taken to combat CO2 emissions. At least the National Party don't claim to be trying to make things better.

The reason coal was deposited so long ago is that fungi had not yet developed to be able to break down lignin. So we are releasing CO2 that now has one less way to be redeposited since fungi can rot wood and put dead tree's carbon back into the atmosphere right away.
