But how about start with this: SSN, Medicare, Medicaid, food safety, peace corp, job safety, women's right to vote, equal rights, equal pay act, consumer protection, FDIC, SEC, anti-trust regulation, funding for science, funding for medical and engineering research, support for public education, head start, school lunch and breakfast programs, 40-hour work week, overtime, unemployment, endangered species act, FEMA, environmental regulations, reduced emissions, NPR, and finally: Obama Care. Obama Care delivered affordable health care to 20 million americans, including my family (as at the time, I had left my job to start a new company and didn't have coverage.).

The above is just what my puny mind could come up with. I'm sure that there is far far more that I've forgotten.

I'm certainly not a fan of Rose myself. But I think she does have a point about Democrats. Despite good intentions and all the programs you pointed out above, things seem pretty bad still in a lot of Democratic poor, urban areas, don't you think? Reminds me of this recent ad for Kim Klacik running for office in Baltimore. Don't know whether she is experienced, competent or capable, or whether the facts in her video are 100% substantiated, but don't you think there are some good points being made regarding what the Democrats have done for the citizens of Baltimore, for example?

Republicans have resisted every one of those things and are even now still trying to destroy the ACA.
Republican hacks, having succeeded in oppressing these folks to whatever degree, have the nerve to tell them "hey, look how oppressed you are and how the Democrats can't help you - let us fix that for you!"
Democrats have done what they can while Republicans try to prevent them from helping the people of say, Baltimore.
Those people know it. They are Democrats because they are oppressed by Republicans.
