Seems like the Trumpies' would-be coverups are making the scandal worse. Like in the Watergate scandal, when Richard Nixon and his underlings tried to obstruct investigations of their misdeeds, that made the scandal worse. Likewise for the Catholic Church and its pedophile priests.

He was going to be impeached. That's why he resigned before that happened. He tried to obstruct the investigations into him in a number of different ways (much like Trump did), but was unsuccessful because of people like Howard Dean who refused to commit any more crimes at Nixon's direction.
