Ryzen 2 coming out on April 19th

Apparently, there is an embargo on reviews until the 19^th. It should be interesting to see how the 2700X stacks up to the 8700K.

Back in January, AMD insisted that Ryzen 2 would fix the Spectre vulnerability, although from the sounds of things they fixed variant 1 more than variant 2. I suppose we'll see the real story on that once the review embargo is lifted.

Anyway, is anyone excited about this? Anyone skeptical of the Meltdown/Spectre fixes? Has anyone been holding out on buying a new system because of Meltdown/Spectre?

A security company reports 13 new security flaws specific to AMD CPUs, although their are questions about the reliability of the report.

Benchmarks. While it's competitive with Intel parts, it looks like it gets beat by comparable Intel parts more often than not.

Although interestingly, it does better with Civilization 6, one of the few games I still give a shit about.
