Typically, the internet is having a field day ripping Spicer a new one.

I liked this one:

Pepsi: We're definitely going to make the biggest PR mistake of the year.
United: Hold my be--
Sean Spicer: HITLER WASN'T THAT BAD

Although this one was also pretty good:

Sean Spicer really is lucky that there aren't two people in America who'd want the job as Trump's spokesman.

Spicer does bring up a point that just isn't raised enough. The Nazis didn't stoop so low, like the Kaiser did. Which is why there are so many movies about the World War I and the allied defeating of the Kaiser.

Or how about, even the Germans didn't stoop to using chemical weapons in WWII like the Germans did in WWI.

Meanwhile, this is why we have the Holocaust memorial stuff. So people like Sean Spicer don't forget... ah shit, he forgot didn't he?

So anyways, time for the pool. How long until Sean Spicer is the "former White House Press Secretary"?

This is what happens when you execute Baghdad Bob.
Baghdad Bob was executed? He seemed pretty confident that he'd get a pardon.

I think Spicer is proof that the Buddhists are right about the whole reincarnation thing. Spicer is obviously a reincarnation of Baghdad Bob... minus a few million brain cells.

I think Spicer deserves a slight bit of defense here. He likely meant that even Hitler didn't use chemical weapons in the war field. This would suggest, very very very poorly, that Assad, oh I have no idea why the fuck you'd say that.

"I mean, even Hitler didn't use chemical weapons on civilians...

...

oh shit

...

*resign*."

If Dave Chappelle was in the Press Corp like I think he needs to be, the follow ups would have been good.

So, you are saying Assad is worse that Hitler? You know, he killed 100 people in that attack. Coalition attacks have killed around 200 civilians with conventional weapons. Does that make Trump worse than Hitler? Because Hitler didn't kill a single Syrian civilian you know.

Where are the rightist posters telling me that I've constructed a "straw man" argument because German Jews aren't really German? I'm not convinced that the FOX News crowd actually understands what a straw man fallacy is.

It's still a ridiculous argument. Using chemical weapons for the systematic extermination of civilians is morally worse than using chemical weapons on the battlefield.

Certainly, it isn't even an argument. It creates a false premise to defend judging Assad as being worse than Hitler, which is ridiculous. Rule Number 1, don't bring up the Nazis in an argument unless the argument is specifically about Nazis!

And what Hitler did use chemical weapons on the battlefield. Does that just equate moral equivalency to Hitler. Why the heck is Hitler the bar here?

This is a strawman to many conservatives:

In the U.S., the number of earth-worshipping pagans at the Burning Man Festivals have grown to tens of thousands. People come from Canada, Brazil, Germany, Russia, and 25 other countries to an isolated corner of Black Rock Desert in Nevada, where other Wiccans, Satanists, goddesses, nudists, and a consortium of party-goers converge on the hot Nevada desert for a Labor Day weekend of "glorious Hell on earth."

Yeah, I was expanding the Repug Rape rule just a little bit ago...
Well, Spicey really stepped in some Dino sized caca.

Lesson to Repugs, you shouldn't talk about Hitler in addition to rape, before your words are tripple checked by sane people: ....

Because as we all know, it's a far greater stain upon a man's honor if he uses chemical weapons to exterminate enemy soldiers than it is to use them in the systematic extermination of your own people.

Sorry but there is no "In his defense." Spicer is a blithering idiot.

Oh no. I just thought of something.

Did I commit "white genocide" by suggesting that there is something wrong with defending Hitler?

Spicer may the stupidest person in that admin, though he's also hampered by the Trumpian dictate of never admitting a mistake. But this is really magnificently awful.

I think when you come to sarin gas, there was no—he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Ashad [sic] is doing. I mean, there was clearly... I understand your point. Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate that. There was not, in the, he brought them into the Holocaust centers, I understand that. But I’m saying, in the way that Assad used them where he went into towns, dropped them down to innocent, into the middle of town, it was brought. So, the use of it—I appreciate the clarification. That was not the intent.”

I think I recall a time when Hussein was being called worse than Hitler. And everyone lived happily ever after.

You know what really floors me about all of this?

Somewhere out there are a large number of right wing voters who are watching all of this and getting angry at "the liberals" for criticizing a member of the Trump administration, and are probably trading links on Facebook with titles that ask "have the liberals gone too far this time?"

Spicer should have pulled the emergency brakes and admitted it was a poor comparison, but the Trump Doctrine is to damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead on stupid.
