Shooting reported at San Diego's Naval Medical Center

"Authorities responded to reports of three gunshots fired around 8 a.m. (11 a.m. ET) Tuesday in the basement of Naval Medical Center San Diego's Building 26, medical center spokesman Mike Alvarez said.

Alvarez said the incident is being treated as if it's an active shooter situation."

San Diego police spokesman Officer Travis Easter said police had received a report of a shooter from officials at the medical center, but that they had not requested any assistance and so no officer had been sent to the scene.

It's military police jurisdiction. Most likely the local cops were told they were not needed, because no actual shooter was confirmed yet, just a single report that someone thought they heard shots in the basement.

Ya, isn't the report of a shooter a request for assistance in and of itself? That's a weird statement.

Well, now the police are saying that there's no evidence there was any shots fired at all.

What a waste of time. They could have at least shot a black guy while they were there in order to make the story not be a complete waste.

It's a bit much when the big news is that nobody, not even a black guy, was shot at a medical centre today.
