This is not a screed against the fap.

However, I noticed and apparently other people also noticed that a subtext of the "me too" brouhaha is the dirty old dude masturbating in front of the damsel in distress. (Yes, I wrote damsel.)

This article suggests that this is just part of harassing behavior. Well, maybe.

It's a weird fetish. I knew a girl who worked in a department store and she would tell me stories of every so often a guy would come in and wander around the women's underwear section. He was very conspicuous but staff assumed he was a shoplifter and kept an eye on him. After a while, he positioned himself behind a display rack and masturbated and left. My friend couldn't believe it. But after this guy was caught, she started to be aware that there were a few other men doing it, they had just been a bit more discreet. The tactic to stop these guys was to keep bothering them with "is there anything I can help you with sir?" every minute. Weirdos.
