Tesla Model 3

Some experience through a family member. I've never operated one but did a bit of traveling in the vehicle over several days. Am thinking about an electric vehicle purchase in the future and the Tesla 3 is first on the list presently.

I'm not crazy about owning a vehicle that can only go a couple hundred miles before needing "refueled." If I do purchase one I'll probably keep a gasser around for longer trips. It supposedly has a range of 300 miles but just over 200 is a better estimate.

The vehicle is super easy to operate and recharge and is beautiful both inside and out. When I look at a vehicle it should accommodate two adult bicycles inside. The Tesla does not do that.

You need a rack, roof, or bumper. Such should make you happy to be neighborhood electric leader. Suggest you get one that can reconfigure for Kayaking, biking, shushing and/or camping. Yakima? .
... and as for range https://teslike.com/

I'm not young. So I'm getting to like slow driving trips. Think of me as an electric flypaper going at 48 mph. Ooh, la la

I had one fly past me on an on ramp on my trip down to Detroit last week. Must have been doing 85 when traffic on the freeway was barely doing 70. Could have turned out quite badly if there was no room to slip into traffic.

Power corrupts.

Why bother with the model three? It's a dog, and takes all day to get to 60 mph (3.1 seconds)
Go with the model S, and get to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds. Don't spill your coffee!

Has hybrid cars fallen out of fashion? I haven't heard any hype about them in quite a while. For my use, a hybrid would be much better than an electric. An electric would be useful for short trips or around town, not so much for road trips well off the interstates. But then I have no plans to buy another car anytime in the near future as my old Isuzu is still purring along nicely.

We are in the same boat.

We have a 2014 Prius V with 95, 000 on it and plan to run it to 200,00 or more.

Runs great and will easily hold 70 mph on the interstate.

Currently getting 41.4 mpg at a cost of 4.5 cents / mile.

I think the knock is on plug-in hybrids because no one ever plugs them in.

Toyota has 9 hybrid models available.
