While life gets better for millions of gays, the number of homeless LGBT teens - many cast out by their religious families - quietly keeps growing
We had one refugee in our basement for a couple of weeks. Kicked out by parents when g/friend outed herself, and her, by association.
I cannot understand the mentality.
SOmeone at work expressed some sympathy for the parents of the teen. "What would you do if your kids turned their back on everything you stood for? What if your son became a NeoNazi?"
"Personally, I'd want to keep the little weasel close by. Where i could watch him. Plus, i'd get a BIG kick out of introducing people to my interracial Nazi child... "
Plus, as i remember our teachings, God doesn't punish you for associating with sinners. He'd kinda prefer that you hang out with them and annoy them into the Faith. Or, something like that. I mean, we're not AD&D Paladins. We don't suffer because someone else in the party (household) behaves in a non-approved manner. We're judged on our own sins.
Except when God punishes generations of people for the sins of their fathers.
But it never goes backwards. No one's punished 7 generations for the sins of their great-great-great-great-great-grandkids...
I don't understand the mentality. I really don't.
