The High Cost of Believe Women

You're assuming a suitable study exists. I'm saying most of the research money out there isn't going to fund something like this and I haven't heard of any such study, I doubt one exists. (If there were one one side or the other would be trumpeting it.)

The Heritage Foundation or Project Veritas would have leap at such low hanging fruit, if such a claim was true. Don't pretend otherwise, I know you aren't that stupid.

Hey, if Derec, Loren, Jolly and one or two others got together, maybe they could raise the money for a study?

Also: crowdfunding?

On a serious note, I do agree that false accusations of rape or sexual assault are awful no matter how many there are, and I'm sure we could at least use the word 'many' to describe the number of victims. Imo, the OP article seems to overegg the issue though.

I don't need any study on any of this to convince me that we need to preserve the presumption of innocence, and that we should not "believe' the victim that the accused did wrong just because they say so. I don't care what the numbers are. Nor do I apply this to just rape. I apply this to every accusation of a heinous crime.

Well, like everything else regarding the right wing, the seriousness of an issue is entirely based around "How can this affect me?". The average white male Republican isn't at much risk of rape or sexual assault, so it's clearly not an issue worth worrying about. They can, however, imagine themselves becoming victims of false allegations of sexual assault, so that jumps up the priority of this issue because they are potential victims of it and since the potential victims matter, the issue matters.

Which no one has ever argued against.

and that we should not "believe' the victim that the accused did wrong just because they say so

Which is--once again--not what is being advocated by anyone anywhere. That is just you stuffing your own evidently deliberately misconstrued straw.

I can imagine them becoming the victims of entirely true allegations too, and wanting a formed narrative to fall into in order to duck away from charges.
