He prefers pertussis—whooping cough—to the pertussis vaccine, which he later described to me as a “crime against children.” It’s not the diseases that Americans should be afraid of, Bigtree insists: It’s the shots that stop them.

See, these are exactly the sort of people who I was talking about using some manner of force against based on their disagreement with reality.

Some people do not deserve children, particularly those who expose them to crippling and debilitating diseases with lifelong consequences because they fear modern science.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday that the United States has logged 2,318 measles cases in the first seven months of this year, surpassing last year’s total of 2,289.

It’s the largest number of measles cases the U.S. has seen in 35 years, and comes amid a decadeslong slide in childhood vaccination rates. The majority of infected people — 93%, according to the CDC — are unvaccinated.


“We have joined the rank of countries where vaccination is not reaching the levels needed to protect all of our children against some of the most contagious diseases,” said Dr. Richard Besser, a pediatrician and president of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. When vaccine levels dip, measles is usually the first vaccine-preventable disease to rise because it’s by far the most contagious.

To the best of my knowledge, all he said was "Keep your distance, wash your hands, wear a mask". Which was basically the advice every other medical expert in the developed world was giving to their respective countries.

Am I missing something?

This morning, I gave Anthony Fauci the chance to do something simple: turn around, look at everyone he hurt with his lockdowns, vax mandates, and mask mandates, and apologize.

Kennedy, then a prominent anti-vaccine activist, preceded the visit with a letter to the Samoan prime minister requesting to study the Pacific island nation’s measles, mumps and rubella vaccines after the deaths of two children who had received them. In the letter, he used the words vaccine or vaccination eight times.

The Department of Health and Human Services said in response to questions from the AP that the Samoa visit “was unrelated to vaccines.”
