I'm confused.
What does fake elector mean in that sentence?

The state decides who is an elector, and who they will vote for in the EC.

Why is a fake elector different, from the stand point of prosecuting, than a police impersonator trying to arrest a congressperson for participating in the electoral college?

What is the partisan angle? Are there state legislators that think overturning the federal government is OK, as long as it's their guy? What?

There was no law specifically making such political fraud illegal. Now there is. All the Republicans voted against passing this bill.

Where have you been the last 2 1/2 years? Have you not heard of the fake elector stuff the Republicans tried to pull between the election and when Biden took office?
