• Welcome to the Internet Infidels Discussion Board.

There are SO MANY people here who read and don’t post...

I found it especially interesting when people who read but don't post publicly, nonetheless send me private messages regarding a thread or topic they are following but not posting in.

How often does that happen to you folks? Could be more frequent when you have expressed a minority view. I've seen it on other boards as well.

I’m always interested by how many names show up under “people who have read this thread in the last 3 days” whose names I have not seen posting.

I don’t have a problem with this, mind you, I just find it interesting.

Like a teaser about further conversaations that _might_ happen, interesting thoughts I _might_ read if they post one day. I wonder, do they like the topic? Are they pro? Con? Having thoughts that were not yet articulated by others on the thread?

They are from the C.I.A. :)

DAMN IT!! I've been busted again!!
So that source of income has gone, and now I'll only get what the Mossad, FSB, KGB, ISIS, MI 5 and MI 6 will pay for...
Maybe if I do what the cunning Orange Boss does and cry "False news, false news..."

There is another factor to consider. Some of those who 'read only' simply cannot post. They're in the closet, in a sense.(1) If Jerry Falwell Jr., Jamie Bakker, Richard Roberts or Donnie Swaggart were to post some of the stuff they really know about getting into your grandma's coin bank, they'd be given wedgies and chased out of the market -er - church. As for Anne Graham, if she spills the beans, they'll remind her of St. Paul: 'I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man. She must remain quiet and shut her damn pie-hole.' (Translation and exegesis mine.)
(1) Some of them are in two or more closets, but let it ride.

This has to be much more of a problem.

There should be a reading test each time you're about to post.

Excellent. That was the reading test. You pass. :D
