These poor delusional women don't know they need feminism

Why is she carrying a sign instead of making sure that her husband's dinner is ready on time? It looks like a certain young lady needs some manners slapped into her. :p

There are two sides of the story: some fems are cray, some anti-fems are cray.

If we want to look at feminism rationally it does a lot of good, but expecting the masses to try and conceptualize the philosophy objectively, both for and against, would be asking way, way too much.

This is what happens when you try to educate women.

Good for them!

Note that women in these pictures are not against gender equality (not that cooking dinner is contrary to equality) but they realize that feminism has long since ceased to be about equality at all.

Feminism is not one thing or one philosophy, so you can't make an argument about feminism in a general sense, you have to be more specific.

Some feminists love equal rights, some don't.

They are against a word, not the entirety of feminist thought.

They don't know the entirety of feminist thought.

Like some other people here who shall remain nameless.

I think the RadFems (or politically incorrect but apt term "feminazis") have poisoned the term "feminist". That goes both for radical feminists of 70s and 80s such as Dworkin, MacKinnon or Brownmiller as well as more contemporary incarnations like Jessica Valenti or Gail Dines.

The term itself is at least partly to blame for people thinking it means what these ladies do. Egalitarianism or gender equality sound like fairness and equality. Feminism sounds like superiority and special treatment. It is "equal pay for equal work" vs "anything a man can do a woman can do... Better"

You are entitled to think what you like, and so are the women in the OP.

Neither changes the validity of my statement.

Feminism is frequently misrepresented. It is simply the advocating of social, political, and all other rights of women to be equal to men. There may be some radicals who advocate something different but the actual definition is unambiguous.

Words mean what people (both speaking and hearing) understand them to mean, and regardless of the original intent of whoever first used the word, today it is quite ambiguous.

The definition is very specific, but people cannot understand their own language or pervert the meaning of the word (which is rooted in the same lack of understanding). There are fanatics who say they are feminists and those who say they are 'anti.' This tends to be opposing or supporting something that is not the intent and meaning of the word feminism. In such instances they tend to add something to the definition or alter the definition.

Well, how about we define feminist as someone seeking equality and respect for women, except for one week a month where it means a pissed off, screeching harridan?

This leaves me disinclined to treat you as a rational and decent person.

Regardless of where the term originated, "feminism" carries a degree of emotional baggage. It's unfortunate, because it ought to imply a search for equal treatment. That doesn't meant that differences between the sexes don't exist; only that no person's abilities should be prejudged, nor should their opportunities be bound, based on those differences.

Tough Room.

Well, so does 'atheist.' And 'Christain.' Muslim, agnostic, creationist, human, animal, geek, nerd, Democrat, gun-enthusiast, liberal, fear, famine, fire, flooding, fornication, faggotry and the plague.
Humans will try to label ideas and then try to own the ideas and then twist the labels and then villify the cheese graters. As usual.

Tom Sawyer is our local person who's really good at irony. You'll learn to rep him often.

Well I think MRA's or to use the politically incorrect term "little whining shitcocks that can't get laid without Rohypnol" should shut the fuck up.

Feminism is by definition advocating of social, political, and all other rights of women to be equal to men. There may be certain human emotions and reactions in response to this but the definition remains the same.
